Right, they were able to take them down because of the names, but with this new bill, jagex will be able to take down sites for more than just copyright infringements on their name

Done, though I already signed multiple other petitions. Anyway, I also wrote to my local congressmen about this bill, and PIPA. I urge other US citizens to do so, as well.

The bill gives the government and private people the right to petition ISPs, without warning or a court order, to block websites (just the domain) because they either host or link to "copyrighted content". Just one single piece of infringing content is enough to warrant a take down request even if 99.99999999999999999999999999% of the website is not copyrighted content. It would endanger any site that has user posted anything as if a user posts a link to an illegal torrent, that site can be taken down. There also does not need to be a court order and this (same thing in the current tech laws) has already made YouTube take down content that the complainer actually has no rights to because they fear a lawsuit. Search engines also would need to completely remove any links that link to any site that has been blacklisted or they will be taken down as well. The bill obviously violates the first amendment and could easily destroy the internet as we know it.

I'm assuming it is sending the letter to congress and it needs to know which district you are in.

 

China's is very communist about their internet usage, facebook is blocked even

I already took action like 5 times, and that is enough for me.

 

I doubt this bill will successfully pass. With the number of people against this bill, although most government is corrupt, I still have my doubts.
