Sythe's own RS server!!!

honestly i think a private server is one of sythes last things to worry about i see sythe as an official market to cheat on runescape and honestly the only reason im on sythe is to sell my accounts for runescape and in real life money but if they dont fix this update soon ill probably quit

 

I kind of like the idea. Has potential if it's done well.

Most private servers get boring way too fast because of very limited content, the ability to get all 99's in like 10 minutes, and the lag/down time.

If we could find some way to allow people to create accounts with the same stats as their real RS accounts, we wouldn't have to inflate the XP rates too much, and we would get a wide variety of player levels.

 

They aren't going to fix the update. The closest your going to come to getting the wildy back is by offering some ideas to the J mods, since they are "willing to compromise".


If we can find a way to get around the payment issue, I'm sure it would be a big hit amongst sythe, and amongst the new quitters of RS if they find sythe.

 

For the server idea, I really like it. I mean it is not hard at all to code a server. If you know java at all, you could make a really really good server. Private servers are the most basic things when it comes to java. I mean all you really need is some coders who know java (which we should have) and boom you have a great server. Now when it comes to hosting, you have two options

1. Get enough donations and then host it on a dedicated server. You could get as many people as you want on the server without any lag

2. Host it on a computer that has a lot of memory and have that one computer dedicated to it. That will have more lag, but it would cost nothing or almost nothing.

I think we should go ahead with this idea.

Make it Runescape before the wildy ditch update, make members $2 a month and get the server paid from that.

Yea that would probably be the best idea. What i think should happen is you get pimpscape or something make it silab user friendly then you make it where the wildy is in the usual place. Then you make it hard to level up and they have to actually work for it. Then from there you make an actual economy with drops from monsters. You could have some shops to sell items but nothing big. If you do this and it has little lag then you can sell gp possible for the server or membership and they get special items etc. If you really want to go through with this, I suggest contacting moparscape for more help.

 

well how much does an average decent server cost that will hold maybe 500 players at one time no problem?

 

To hold 500 players about 100-200 dollars. Yea that is for a ded. server. You won't be able to handle that many people on a regular computer. You can only hold about 50 people or so.

 

We'll I love this Idea.

We have a VERY large number of people who use this site.

We could charge 5$ a month for membership.

Also we have some very talented programmers here. IT would take awhile but would be worth it. I dont think money would be an issue at all as long as we had enough people who donated and used members.

We would probably have around 10,000 users after a couple months of advertising. Say 50% pay for members; thats 25,000 a month.

You could also make profits from a site like the old sythe mills.

You could sell at around 1-2$ each. And people could start marketing them.

We start with an Alpha version, Beta, then a Final Release...

We could also implement some new features.

Like WoW or Diablo 2, You have different types of Characters you can choose. We could make Magician, Barbarian, and Rogue/Ranger and make new types also.

Who wants to host an illegal private server for a game that already sucks?

 

Well I didn't mean an actuall server..I was more hinting to a game similar to runescape..

 

Then that game would have to be made. And by whom if I may ask...
