I actually notice more activity since I joined a few months ago, Sythe.org has nothing to be worried about.

Ban evaders wouldn't increase the number either, it just creates more never used accounts.

I posted the following a few weeks back just to give people a different and more accurate perspective on how "active" Sythe.org really is.

To be honest, that number is extremely misleading, and in the big scheme of things, Sythe.org has a very small member base. Here are some numbers for you:

    Total members: 251,732

Total members with 0 posts: 115,804

Total members with 10 or less posts: 68,135

That means that out of the 251,732 members, only 67,793 have 11 or more posts, yet almost twice that number have absolutely NO posts.

Going even further, only 14,072 members have 50 or more posts, which is where I would call a member actually "active", yet the active member base of Sythe.org I'm sure is far under even that.

Several thousand active members isn't enough for you? I think that's a great number lol I haven't even seen that many because I only lurk in certain sub-sections. It's not slowly dying, we have a legitimate staff unlike others *cough* powerbot *cough* and we have a great community.

I do a fair amount of reports as well.

OT: I think Sythe is plenty active. I've seen no decline since I've joined, 4 years ago.

Yeah, right now we have more users on than the offical RS forums and Tip.it combined.

I'd say we're doing just fine.

    It's the most I've seen.
A lot of people here just roam. And rarely post.

Sythe.org is still one of the most active RS2 based website, ever.

    Sythe - Slowly dying?

Even tho the majority are lurkers/vaders, sythe is still the most active RS black market running. If everyone done their bit and posted what they know to help others then it would be more active.

I think the only place which is less "active" is the spam forum, when i first joined there was a shitload more peeps rocking that place.

    Sythe - Slowly dying?

Runescape is slowly dying, so I guess it would follow that Sythe would see a lull in activity as well.

This makes sense except for the fact that as people quit Runescape, they come to Sythe to sell their accounts & items. So Sythe activity doesn't really change much.

With the ability to vouch for the increase in activity, from my long-standing relationship with Sythe (2007 bitches :)), I'd say the activity has in fact increased since then.

Hell, we're more active than the official Runescape forums.

    Sythe - Slowly dying?

When I joined Sythe.org in 2007, it had 100,000 members. It now has over 250,000 - more than some countries. I don't see how it could be construed as ''slowly dying''; the relatively recent return of free trade has made Sythe.org very active indeed.

OP your join date is Mar 2011, are you really commenting on the history of Sythe's user base?
If anything there may be less blatant scammers on this site since you joined, but in all likelihood they are probably growing in numbers also.

I think it is growing quickly, but the trust is slowly dieing. Anyone with a feb 2011 join date or newer scares me to do a trade with.

    Sythe - Slowly dying?

After free trade was released, A LOT more people joined sythe. Before that, there were not as much as now. Sythe will always be active, it has never fallen in activity since I was around (March 2010). It is a very stable community.

But, I do agree. There should be advertisements made, so new members can join. The bigger the community, the more trades :)
