Sythe scammers ridiculous..

When you get started, you'll have to go first to build up vouches. You'll most likely get scammed at least once, but eventually you get a sense of who's trusted and who's not. Go first to trusted people and when you get a few vouches, you can present yourself as a trusted user and make others go first to you.

Also the fact that you're currently selling a level 124 with near-maxed melee stats for 40m makes me very suspicious that you're an account recoverer yourself, not to mention that this is the 10th+ time you have opened a thread trying to sell these accounts, and that you apparently quit runescape 2 months ago yet are still selling accounts

 

Personally I've been trying to sell this $20 UGC that I have and I've gone through.. ehh like ~10 scammers.. Everytime I bring a middleman in boom log out from msn and block me on sythe.

 

What do you mean? Benda did read the PM and reply to me. The imposter asked me to pm him and I did, and got a reply back instantly. I'm kind of confused, because if there is a chance I can get $125 back that would be nice as I'm not the type of person that can afford to give hundreds of dollars away.

But seriously I don't understand the mentality of people on these forums. Do you not do research when you buy products in real life? When you buy a car do you test drive it first, talk to the previous owner about it, check it out etc? Why should sythe be any different.

End of the day I have to chalk it up to people being young and naive. Tricking 12-15 year olds isn't that hard and scammers know it

 

Sounds about right, you need to be careful and not be rash when making deals.

Obviously, a middleman or official middleman are always safe!

Don't really think there's any decent solution for this problem, it's just like trying to solve the problem with wars.

Maybe I could think of something, but that would change Sythe a lot.
I'm thinking of making Sythe invitation-only. Like when you get X number of vouches (or anything the higher ups could think of), you would get one invitation.
Also, if the person you invited scammed, depending on the amount he scammed, the person inviting him should get some punishment.

Though this would tighten Sythe's community a lot.

People shouldn't be able to call them self a donator with a $5 donation. What's $5 to them if they can possibly scam hundreds of dollars from someone like in my case? Maybe raise it to $25 or even $50 minimum donation to have the donator thing under the name.

 

Which will never happen, Sythe himself has stated that the market will remain open to everyone.

 

What are you retarded? It's not as if you pay $5 and just get a title saying "Donator". You get a title saying $5 Donator. If you are foolish enough to trust them with hundreds of dollars then that's just too bad for you.

 

Just to add to this, no one should be trusted based on their donations...

Don't act like people with money don't scam too, and don't act like their donations are some sort of "Bond" towards sythe, because they're not.

I think if you are really concerned about the subject you should take time to read over these posts because these guys here have made a lot of valid points.

I'm not a staff member. This is the reason people like you get scammed. You don't even acquaint yourself with the workings of this site at all and then come and complain.

 

and now this kid is banned for probably scamming and he posts on thsi thread use a middleman typical it's impossible to pick out the scammers been scammed 3 times now and currently leveling up stui's account for my first ever good trade.

 

We've done the most we can, theres plenty of stickies, guides, preventative measures that we've highlighted, its your job to read them and trade safely.
