Sythe.org MMORPG?

i actually think this is a good idea you would have so many players in a short time

 

This sounds like a rather successful idea, although obviously you would need to code some sort of member function, where the buyer has access to new things/places/people/rewards. You could make some sort of runescape based game, but it would need to include much better and more ways to fight other characters within a sectioned off area.

This type of game would take a long time to make so its not something thats gonna happen overnight although it wouldn't be a bad idea if the right ideas and the concept is good to make it a great game.

 

I believe the funding of this project would cost more than $5000. If you want a decent game, you need decent programmers. You'd need to set up a pretty big team. It would be better if you set up a small office somewhere and hire programmers that live near you. You won't get much progress with people that live on the other side of the world. It may take a bit of time but you'll defiantly succeed if you put your mind to it.

All I can say is good luck man. Don't expect the release to be a year from now either. You'll get a bunch of bugs, errors, etc. Hosting servers will cost you quite a bit. When beta comes out, make the server cap 100 at least. Get beta testers from Sythe or somewhere else.

Also if it was up to me i would make it like runescape but without grand exchange and bounty hunter.

Like a mod towards RuneScape? Yeah, that would be a good idea. Wouldn't cost much either.

Problem is, if you want people to buy this, you'd need permission from Jagex, well, either way you'd need permission. You don't want to get into trouble.

Like take out the grand exchange and bounty hunter, if you can find their old databases and all that crap it'll make it easier.

Nothing RuneScape related please? This game should have it's own unique type of feel. And like Guide said, it will at least take a year, or 6 months, there most likely will be a lot of bugs, it will take time to develop the game unless you can find a lot of good programmers (etc) around the area you live. Getting help from people that can be on the other side of the world will take a while.

What motivated you into making a MMORPG?

 

dont no if u have noticed or not but ur on sythe. this site is full of elite programmers that would b happy to work on the game?

 

It's quite a good idea... but I am just wondering for a game along the lines you are speaking of do you understand how long it will take? Also finding good people to work with that know what there doing, won't try to rip you off or act like a moron are quite hard to find.

In case you didn't know making a game of that caliber will take more than Sythe programmers. I mean its months if not years of work.
No offense but how many projects that have been started by sythe Programmers have actually finished?

Probably non they are either simple programs or don't get finished. May I refer to you to the um the Sythe program team that was assembled quite a while ago.
It never really got anywhere.

No offense to any of the programmers they have a skill which takes hard work and I wished I could be as talented as they are but, an MMORPG is a lot and I mean a lot harder than say a runescape client.

 

I like how it looks, I want a Sherwood Dungeon feel to it (http://www.sherwooddungeon.com/home.html) because the Game is 3D and not just pixelated.

 

That'd be awesome. But SYthe, keep in mind that the server costs would be insane. ESPECIALLY for a forum this big.

 

There's Intrest, but i think it would Fail in the Future, too much compotition.
