We don't use the generators much. We're getting more solar and I'm building a gasifier. But you'd be amazed how much money you save not paying any rent. And once we start running cattle there should be money enough.

 

Lets say a company came to your town and took over (by force) schools, hospitals, universities and roads. These things all existed before they came along but they have guns and they took them by force. Then they passed 'decrees' that said no one else was allowed to start any of these things without their permission, and further, everyone within a certain geographical area around them must give them money everytime they buy or sell something, and at the end of the year some portion of their yearly income.

Then I come along and point out how fucking monstrous this is, and you ask: "if you got on the bad side of this company and refused to pay them protection money, and your girlfriend got sick, would you take her to the hospitals they run because they stole all the hospitals and no one else is allowed to build a hospital without their permission?"

To which I would reply: yes, you fucking idiot. Not like we have any god damn choice.

 

Oh jesus. Come on man, get your historical facts straight. Civilization != government. In fact thugs have been presiding over everyone throughout most of history. If government were civilization, why are there third world countries? If government magically makes healthcare why are 3/4 of the world's people without healthcare, but 0% are without government?

Privileges? Contributions? These all imply voluntary consent. Voting is not even voluntary in Australia. The government takes our money (including mine) at gun point, and provides us with 'services' at the same point of the same gun. Yet I am the one who is abusing? What planet do you live on?

Lets replace government with a doctor rapist. Do you feel that you are abusing your privileges of being medically seen to by your doctor rapist by not consenting to have sex with your doctor rapist?

Look imagine hospitals are mines. If people doing business as the government came to a geographical area and seized control of all the mines, then stole all the money people would otherwise have invested in mining then used that money to build mines and line their own pockets, and to stop other people building mines, then they would own all the mines.

Then you come along and say "all sufficiently large mines are at least partially funded by the government". Well that's what happens when you STEAL ALL THE MONEY AND ALL THE MINES.

No, your argument was that healthcare comes from government. Everywhere has government, but most places don't have healthcare. It's not even remotely true that government makes healthcare. Look at history. Where there was an existing culture of medicine and healthcare (such as many parts of the western world) this was taken over by the government, and is now (in adjusted terms) far worse than it was in the past. The number of medical colleges in the US for example has fallen dramatically, doctors no longer make house calls, I can get my pet in for a PET scan tomorrow, but if i need one for myself or you need one for your child that's a 6 month waiting list after 6 months trying to get a referral.

I don't think you know ANYTHING about this topic. So you should stop and go read up first.

A thief cannot run a charity. It is not his money to give away.

Slave ownership has been persistent throughout history but that's abolished in much of the world now. I don't see that it's that big a leap to abolish the more general form of slave ownership called citizenship.
