Why Sythe is Dead- A full Audit/Breakdown [Lengthy Lesson]

2005-2006: 5$/mil
2007-2011: Finntatorship. The Rise and Fall of Trent Thomas. R2P versus Grave. Derik's ewhoring. Sexual favors for special privileges.
2012-2015: De-Finnization era. Roary's renaissance. Mass banning over dickpic gate claiming the lives of some of our best members today. Dukester the Gookster Rags to Riches to Rags series (Vader-Mod-Banned-DNT). @WhoNeedsAChaser scams a green partyhat, doesn't get banned (2 more green partyhat scams away from highly respected rank). Honest Iago vs Leanbean, and Richard living on a farm and pooping into a bucket.
2016-Present: DNT, Memes, Roary and Squad versus Big Rich and Yes Men, mass member and staff exodus, Talon destroys autistic members million dollar business, cryptocurrency frenzy, Leanbean vs Idolized, Name snipers call each other name snipers, Moderator application system, mass amounts of groups with no utility (as if CDT wasn't useless enough of a "team"), Bogdan's autism, Deriks PH giftcards for nudes, Alex's food reviews, John's staking business, Duke's homework business, TTB's 15th birthday. The start of the Richtatorship.

History Lesson:

Sythe has never been more dead than it is right now, but let's get into the meat of the problem. We really need to dissect the inner-workings of this complicated, yet beautiful dump. This website has fostered and housed some of the most mentally deficient humans on the planet. Darwinism is not a term we can use for this breeding ground of spectacular mediocrity. There have been some astonishingly stupid members of this website such as Candarin, Divinetaco, rswealth, and of course, our resident pig Derik. There have been intelligent posters as well, but they have been drowned out by the masses of spastics and lunatics. Back in the day, these stains were treated very, very differently. During the Finntatorship, if you did not provide sexual favors for him, you were probably never getting staff. The existence of Richard was largely a myth. He was like that mythical creature you read about in books but rarely see in action. As a result of this lassitude and lethargy on Richard's part, a megalomaniac driven staff team was formed. You had the raging narcissists, the drug addled charlatans, the preferential treatments and false bans. Disputes being archived without reply, the screams of children unheard, and arguably the worst top to bottom staff team of all time in the early days of Sythe.

Let's fast forward a bit. One big problem here is that @Sythe does not pay his staff for a job that requires the IQ of a mongoloid (which begs the question why @Dank was never promoted to admin). Big Rich does not often drop crumbs to us lowly peasants. As a result of the lack of compensation many have left this piss poor excuse of a website for ForumKorner. A forum where you can pay your way to prime positions of power. Peasants/inmates that were given the keys to the asylum whilst he was defecating into a bucket on some third world farm that @Lame would have eventually worked on had he not so unfortunately left us way too soon (The African's didn't quite trust his severe lack of melanin). Unfortunately, the head CO, known as Roary, almost drove himself to the brink of insanity keeping this dumpster fire afloat. He had modscore oozing out of all of his orifices. However, when Richard returned from his farm, with a fat wallet and a surely severely chapped butthole due to a serious deficiency in the way of natural toilet paper and eating questionably edible and possibly poisonous berries he quickly brushed aside Roary like a spurned ex-lover. Roary had an army by his side. The mighty Dunworry, Wonderland, Blade Bro, Astro, LeanBean, Jack Goff, Entrr, and even at one time yours truly, Dukester the Gookster, who was vading at the time, on staff (I did say the inmates were running the asylum you fucks). Now I'm not saying this was a perfect staff team, but it was definitely the best collectively looking team and the most charismatic. While our main man was off playing Man vs Wild, we were tending to his moneymaker forum with pretty good success. Roary was the face of the Franchise. The Vince Mcmahon of the enterprise. Our de facto staff member, Yousuckv2 was banning more vaders than there are whores in a crackhouse. Everything was running smoothly. But one by one, the staff team broke down. Dukester the Gookster succumbed to Ilovegold69 level mental fragility. His lengthy mea culpa quickly removed from Spam Forum, it lives on in the eternal sands of time somewhere.

Once our fearless leader Richard returned, which occurred when I was in a permanent timeout from the website, the staff team started to splinter off and become broken into factions. You had the OG yes men backing their man Richard, and the OG recalcitrant (s/o Lime) members challenging his newly reasserted authority. Eventually Roary led a valiant Spartacus-esque powerplay that fell on deaf ears. A paradox occurred - one of the talking points of his power struggle was the very luxury that led me out of my permanent timeout - DNT. But for every member DNT brought back, it disenchanted a large portion of the userbase. The bulk of the mighty contingent I mentioned above led a mass exodus and many took a long hiatus from the Richtatorship/Sythe. Only his most loyal men remained on the staff team, those who would never dare publicly defy a man who once ran his own farm. We basically lost our most powerful defacto moderator Yousuck. Wonderland, Roary, Entrr, Jack, and Dunworry all essentially peaced the fuck out. Their hard work gone. Their blood sweat and tears all for naught. Their accomplishments and changes to the forum extirpated by a savant. Gone quicker than Farcast's GP once Tmoe stumbled upon it and discovered it was his. Excellent forum members such as Alex Jozz Leon, Desirex, Heads447, PureAddiction, Eazy E, BumBum, Mudzilla, Talon, TeamTofu, Niki, Idolized, Nodnarbusn, John(G), B1B, Milotic, King, Syed, Loyal to the Game, Ifreshmemez, and Abarta tried to keep the dump afloat.

During this time of strife there have been moments of glory and moments of shame. One moment of glory is when Talon and Xanax destroyed a million dollar business run by a member too chickenshit to participate in this very forum. One moment of shame is when John was falsely banned for "scamming" an amount that pales in comparison to his accounts worth and donation level. This can all largely be tied back to when Sythe became the Mcdonalds of forums; suddenly moderator applications were allowed. These catered to members of the forum that were expert leeches and pornstar level dicksuckers. You had SuF spewing his progressive rhetoric on how to make Sythe great again, only to disappear for months at a time when his lifelong dream of becoming a staff member were continually denied. You had Derik e-whoring and offering pizza hut gift cards to potentially underaged women. You had people REEEEEEing harder than ever before when their shitty moderator applications were denied. You had people draining as many ballsacks as they could to get a red name and a rank. You had random teams whose function on the forum was negligible if even existent (but they sure provided forum ranks)! You had teams announcing private servers with impossible to meet expectations and deadlines. You had CDT regurgitating the same event that the same five people participated in. You had social media pages with 2 followers and no exposure. The team era of Sythe is a highly questionable practice. Some excellent staff members still came about in this era however, with men like Wortel, Admires, and Gen being welcome additions.

So where does that leave us now? Well with the mass exodus and staff upheaval, Sythe is going through a transitional period. We have more teams than we do active members, a startlingly low amount of fresh memes and dreams, a 2:1 mod to normal user ratio, and OG members challenging the authority of Big Richard. We may have come from his e-ballsack as he created this forum, but some of his children are none too happy with his changes.

Conclusion: The forum is dead from a COMMUNITY aspect, it is sinking a la the Titanic, but you won't get rid of me fuckers. I will go down this sinking ship with a safesupply shipment and a bottle o rum. I have NO REGERTS spending my time on this website. Thanks to the memes alone. I believe that Richard should give Roary his due props and kudos for keeping his website alive with his time, effort, and spirit. There are sides to both arguments that I agree and disagree with, so I am your messenger boy.

Duke and Abe are GOOKS. Josh is your girlfriends favorite Megaman gamer, Alex likes little kids, John pays $20 for coffee, Derik is an ewhore addict, Talon ruins million dollar businesses and is on bars.

I didn't mention prominent market members as that is outside of my area of expertise - this history lesson centers on the great Sythe World War of Roary versus Richard.

Hi Richard, while I actually agree with most of your changes from a personal standpoint, you must realize these were my fellow brethren that you killed. So while I respect the reign of Crassus, I must also remember Spartacus.

IE:

Staff should be an unpaid position
DNT

Don't think there should be mod apps though. Old system was better. Less dick draining and more effort.

Too many teams with little to no function, even with CDT on top of staff team it felt like too much fat to trim.

 

Also when I say Sythe is dead, I'm talking the community. The market life of Sythe is a different and more solvent beast. We need new members and new memes though. Who can deny this with a straight face?

And I'm talking community driven and contributing members, not just market users.

I want to thank you for your continued service to this forum JG. Even after a false, unjustified, sickening ban was laid upon you for the SECOND time.

With new blood comes fresh meat for 151 chat, so Sythe growing is in our best interests.

 

Finntatorship era best era.

 

Whether you hated or loved Finn, the Finntatorship era was definitely the pinnacle of Sythe and Runescape, so it would be hard to denounce this notion.

Which is why we need a new Runescape to inject some new blood into this place.

There are plenty of megalomaniacs around to be the new Finn, that should be no problemo. However being gay is very 2017, so I think we can eliminate this requirement. It was edgy 10 yrs ago but now it's just pretty common. We should delete the moderator application process and people should once again be able and allowed to send suitable nudes to high ranking members of the forum for special favors. That was honestly the most wholesome method.

I personally would use this method to get un-Dnt'd and back on staff. Preferably sending @Wortel a video of me shoving a carrot up @Dank 's sisters ass.

 

@Sythe . Pls read this. Non troll/ non meme post. My forum father (ok had to include one meme sorry). I think what it all boils down to in that wall of text is this and I'm not memeing in this post: @R/Roary was an integral part of this website for years. Without him, there would have been next to no community for you to return to outside of the market. It leaves a bad taste in my mouth to see these ex-staff members simply classed as "salty" in an attempt to belittle their very tangible accomplishments and contributions to this forum. Countless amounts of hours spent maintaining and providing for YOUR website. A simple "thank you" goes a long way for a lot of people. Granted, they were doing it voluntarily, and I can only speak for myself here - helping your forum via being staff was a fun as fuck time. The thought of being paid for my "work" never even crossed my mind. I enjoyed being part of something much bigger than myself. And I enjoyed the community. Now, some of these community elements were just sheer luck - the launch of OSRS for example was a huge coup for Sythe. We got a resurgence in both member contributions and I'm sure the market saw a VERY healthy rejuvenation. In my opinion, 2014 Sythe into 2015 was extremely positive and self-sufficient. @Dunworry has contributed innumerable amounts of content. @Wonderland as well. Yeah, your staff team was easily replaceable in the sense that you will always have ready and willing participants for the job. That's because the job of Sythe moderator is inherently easy...ANYONE could do it. That is basically real world 101. However they're not anywhere near as easily replaceable when factors such as leadership qualities, volume of contributions, intelligence, etc. are considered. From the vibe I got in the growth thread, it seemed like you severely under-appraised the contributions these members made. That's going to lead to legitimate anger and resentment. That is where the REAL value should be measured...any dumbass with a computer and an internet connection can be a serviceable Sythe moderator. That was never the point and I know you're not dense enough to believe it is the point.

Now, I understand that the MARKET side of Sythe (which I again reiterate is not even close to dying) is probably where all of your income comes from, so if that's your main objective, just say that bruv, most people (myself included) would understand. But then you should delegate powers to competent people to salvage the community side of the website, which is what a lot of people enjoy partaking in (and not just promoting people looking to jerk you off and agree with everything you say in return for a rank). Like I said in OP, which I know you didn't actually read - I named multiple NEW staff members that I think are invaluable and great - so no I'm not salty. Nor have I ever taken months off from this place only to come back later to complain. Somehow you got me confused with inSuFferable. There are sides to both arguments being presented that I agree and disagree with.

Tl;dr: My main beef is with the COMMUNITY aspect of Sythe going to tatters. We can blame the decline of forums, we can blame different modes of communication, but the truth is there are still some incredibly popular forums out there with hundreds of thousands of members. 2015 wasn't that long ago..we can get back to that place.

And btw, I do my best to engage in discussions in many of the sub-forums still (Sports/Rs), so I feel like I'm doing my part to contribute to the community. I'm not part of the Official Sythe discord but I am on Discord now too.
