That's actually more complicated than you would think because a lot of browser's handle the clipboard differently. I did already make it so when you click the token it highlights automatically...

My bad than, I never had to make something like copying instant from a textfield
I'll just stay with my PHP input fields etc lol.

 

This could be useful when taking Paypal, so you know who to report in case of chargeback

No point. Firstly, the list would be outdated as new user groups were added. Secondly, and most importantly, you can never be sure that you have the correct user group for a user, since you only get the group id once - when they authenticate - and any changes after that date will not be reflecte, since you can only use the token once.

Regardless, this is pretty cool. Hopefully I can think of an application for this for my site. Currently the only applications I can see are IRC bots and gold selling websites, though.

Would love oAuth if that's on the cards. If nobody has time to implement that I wouldn't mind doing it for free.

Wrong, when the json call happens you could grab what the current group id relates to, a simple left join depending how it works back end.

Your issue is irrelevant, as they would still have the usergroup ID even if it was outdated. However I see your point.

Forums could also use it as a connection between other forums.

Ah ok, I was under the impression you just wanted a list, not it being built into the API - but in that case you are correct

What is the usergroupid of a TWC user? Does TWC affect the usergroupid?

Edit: Looks like TWC users do not have a unique id. No worries.

Is this considered acceptable use of the token system? I'd like to post it on my thread if so. Gives me a little more control over who I allow to see my name lists without posting them publicly

I happened to notice the post and assumed it was broken and I wasn't sure if anyone used it so I thought I'd ask.
