Support GIDDY

I have seen numerous people with bans on Sythe, and also a few which have had second chances only by the skin of their teeth, even though in my opinion isn't deserved, I would just like to show my appreciation and support to unban Giddy.

I agree, doing what he did was unacceptable, but to my understanding others were doing it too, and I could see how in the heat of the moment he could of been having a laugh and adding to the pictures.

Personally I didn't view these pictures, nor would I want to, but I really do think his Perm ban should be reduced to a Temp ban.

Think about all the work Giddy has done for the site, moderating it, helping people out with requests and such, and the main reason why I support this unban is because I think you took the perm ban too far just for the minor offence ( to me ).

I support the Sythe rules 110%, and agree he should be punished, but only a Temporary ban, whereas scammers should get a Permanent ban.

Giddy can't be too bad if he made the Moderation team, right?

I'm pretty sure numerous people around Sythe want Giddy to come back and moderating this forum again, from my experience he was a friendly and helpful lad.

Giddy posts child porn and recieves a PERM BAN?



Daily is accused of being a HACKER, THIEF etc, and is spared with TWC/Market ban and stripped of Mod\OMM purely because Sin gave him the pitty?


Surely they are 2 different aspects.


But how is Giddy a THREAT to the community and Daily wouldn't be?

No offense to the 500, nothing against you, but two people who basically had the same position.

Despite the fact Daily was a Admin in the past, still seems a bit unjust to the crimes.

 

I am a strong believer that people in authority should be held to higher standards, but perhaps the staff should do a little reading as to what child pornography actually is, though.

Child pornography has different legal definitions in different countries. The minimum defines child pornography as an image showing a person who is a child and who is engaged in or is depicted as being engaged in explicit sexual activity.

Now I did not witness the images that were posted, but if they weren't of the minor in question engaging in anything that could even be construed as sexual activity, then that is not child pornography, so stop branding it with that term. You are slandering those individuals who were involved.

Some more reading into the matter needs to be done.

If anything, more fault should lie with the individual (the minor in question) who made such imagery available.

 

Giddy wanted to be banned. When he was refused, he started spamming to force the staff. I'm pretty sure he wanted it. It'd be good to have him back though.

Giddy knows as well as I do that posting child porn is absolutely unacceptable. I don't want it on Sythe.Org, and I know damn well Richard doesn't want it on Sythe.Org. I deem his perm ban appropriate.

 

He wanted the ban. Not only did he want the ban, he requested his account be deleted.

Alas though, rules are rules =/ I don't think the staff would budge.

 

I only posted this because I saw that Giddy was apologising in the Dispute forum... why would he be disputing if he wanted the ban?

 

I support that, I don't want child porn on Sythe.org, but I think a perm ban to giddy is a little harsh.

 

Giddy had proof, Daily was only accused.

Last I heard he wanted to leave and never wanted to come back.

 

It wasn't child porn. Not saying I disagree by any means with what you've quoted, but it wasn't child pornography.

A minor girl in a scantly-clad school uniform with the intent to be marketed as sexual material is considered child pornography, yes I am aware with the court cases in the past, but that was a special circumstance created to go after waves of preteen model sites that dressed minors in scantly-clad attire or undergarments in sexually presumptive poses or positions marketed for the purpose of sexual gratification.

At the end of the day, Nudity is not sexuality. Nudity can be an aspect of sexuality, but nudity is not sexuality, and without sexuality, it is not child pornography. Take a nudist community for example.


edit: again, I'm not arguing with the administrations decision on this, but don't brand something child pornography when it isn't.

 

Who cares, anyway? I don't even know the basis of what happened, but spam + porn + requesting a perm ban? In my opinion at least, that justifies a perm ban.

What makes you think that was my decision? I didn't ban everyone, you know.

Giddy obviously wanted the ban, and if he changes his mind down the road, I'm sure his situation can be re-examined; from the sound of it, he wasn't really in the best state of mind at the time. But, until he shows an interest in coming back, it's a useless argument.

Giddy's situation aside, I do think child porn should be added to the rules as a permanent ban.

 

Gideon is one of my best friends from Sythe, but he won't be unbanned, and, for now, whilst he is away from the site, this doesn't need to be assessed anyway.
