Summoning on a 1 def pure

Hi,
I have seen a few 1 defence pures using summoning, often terrorbirds in the wilderness. Is this a good, viable option for a one defence pure to take, or is there a high risk of ruining the account by training an unwanted skill.

There is no reason not to train it, it obviously does not affect your combat level and it only brings a lot of utilities.

 

What should I be aiming for realistically on a roughly 70 cb pure? Is there much chance of me training defence accidently (I've never trained summoning before).

 

Nope, just make sure you do not use familiars who gain you defence exp. What you should be aiming for? Just look at the familiars and their abilities, and think of which would come in handy for you, for instance the terrorbird at 52 Summoning.

 

If you're going to get summoning up. I advise getting enough charms for 50+

 

How does summoning not affect your CB level? I enter in stats for my pure on a combat calc and tried raising my summoning a few levels and it always went up in combat.

I've never done summoning before so I figure I'm just missing something here.

 

In the wilderness your level appears as 'level + summoning', eg. '90+5', so you are still rated as a level 90.

 

You could always go for 99 summoning to wreck 1 def pures with a steel titan

Very useful if you want to make a main/pure. My zerker has summoning and a 1900 total.

 

Well, taking a terrorbird/tort into the wild with multi will get you defence on a pure. What most pures will do is take the tort or terrorbird to say west dragons with them. Be very careful about going into multi though, the only BoB familiar that can go into multi with a pure is the Yak.

 

yes, summoning wont affect your combat level when u are in wildy. It is also a very useful skill, for example, u can use unicorn at level 88 to heal you if you use the scrolls which are stackable

 

As stated above summoning has no drawbacks if you want to pk in the wilderness. It can potentially get you defence experience though. It also adds a lot of unwanted levels to your combat if you want to stake, which is a negative + there is no real reason for having summoning on a 1 defence pure. It would make sense however on like a zerker for getting a Korasi.

 

You just have to learn places where multi starts, that's a key to being a good pker anyways IMO. and knowing where those are will help later on once you have titans and can use them to help you.

Getting summoning on a pure is a good idea, since you'r combat level in the wilderness does not go up now, you can use them to make money or just to carry food while your pking since you are only 1 defense, they really do help out

 

Tbh ive seen alot of accounts get ruined by getting unwanted exp. Its your call.

 

Ive seen pures with Rune minitours out in the wildy and they just fight like that and ive seen people get some nice kills. If you have the time and you think its cool i think you should try it. Summoning is still a pricey skill to train.
