Playing fairly..

I’ll tell you what,

Revisiting RuneScape after binging it for years doesn’t have the same bite as I remember it; I was apart of the 06/07 crew. As a kid, there was something actually inviting to the unachievable achievements. Me, a very undisciplined child at ages 11-14. I spent hours a day on the game without gaining a single experience point, whilst ignoring my parents demands to be off at a reasonable hour. I don’t know how I ever lost my addiction, but it happened. I was actually scared before getting back on a few years ago. Mainly for my personality when playing. Of course, just like we all did, when OSRS was reinvented we had to completely start over fresh. Forcing us to build our own climate. For myself, having to play with out the handicap of purchasing gold to skip the hard steps.

Last week I got on for the first time in a couple years for the Halloween event. Just for the nostalgia. Watched a guide on YouTube on how to do it, then one YouTube suggestion after another, I landed on a 1-99 cooking guide. I ended up getting my first 99. It was great! For a few seconds. It’s not enough, now going on my second. I’m almost 30 years old, dude.

Here I am years later, back on my bullshit. I’m really just journaling, some will say rambling. You’d be right. So I’m not speaking to any particular target audience.

 

Hey man - I just want to thank you for taking the time to write this. I think a lot of us on this forum are in the same boat. I also know that there’s a lot of folks on the forum who are here to make some $ and there is nothing wrong with that.

All I can say is - to me, there’s something special about the game and the memories I had as a kid and being able to relive them in my older years.

Just got back into osrs myself. Got my first 99 ever few weeks ago. Never thought I would ever get into osrs like this again lol. Feels nice

Welcome back, there's always that nostalgia feeling of returning to the game Osrs/Rs3 and getting those 99's like we all once dreamed of when we were kids. Best of luck on the grinds

 

Welcome back, brother. To me it was the duel arena that motivated me to get maxed 99 CBs, but I came back to RS with the Duel Arena removed. RWT doesn't seem so fun with the addicted stakers.

 

Well, I posted that and completely forgot about it. I guess I was speaking for quite a few people. I’m glad we have this old format to dwell on. Osrs is the closest thing to time standing still. Thanks for everyone that commented!

Same boat man. played RSC, rs3 & OSRS. I come back from time to time going through the forums and logging in very rarely. When I do log in I just kind of…hangout? I check prices and new items out mainly. I actually spoke with @Hex today about this topic so it’s funny I ran into this post. I wish I could enjoy RuneScape like I did in my younger years but I feel like it’s just not there after the first 30 minutes I log in. Mostly nostalgia I assume but who knows. Welcome back and I hope you find the passion we all once had/have.

 

It won't ever have the same sentiment that it did back in those days. It was alluring, and as silly as it sounds, mystical. Part of that likely came with the imagination of a kid who was 8-12 playing RS, but nonetheless, it really was different back then.
