Sting operations and similar situations

Don't dig because this forum is filled with jokers will would joke around with the dude just to waste his time. It could be used to make a ban decision abut something else, but alone it isn't proof unless money is exchanged.

 

Wouldn't a TWC be more suitable in the case of stings anyways? Given that they've only exhibited suspicious behavior, and never actually traded anything?

A perm ban is a step too far as you never know if they would back out at the last second and call the whole thing off with a last moment of conscious awareness.

 

I'm sure there are plenty of other things they can joke around with other than stuff like this.

 

No support from me, so you're telling me a mod/staff should go out and scam somone.....assuming the other person will scam. Not to mention if a mod thinks they can fake being somone else it doesn't work. If the person you're trying to get to scam asks for a pm then what?

 

If police are undercover as like a prostitute and initiate the deal with something along the lines of
"hey, 30 bucks for an hour?"
and the man accepts, there is no way they will get a conviction in court. The man has to initiate the deal for him to get in trouble. Same thing should apply here. No support.

 

I doubt either of you are getting the point the others in this thread are making - I'm not promoting the use of Sting Operations or anything along the lines, so there's nothing to post "no support" for.
I am merely requesting the staff to revise their current "game-plan" in respect to these methods, and this thread is a reasonable discussion with people giving their arguments, pros and cons.

 

So... do you think they should ask someone if they want to buy their account and if they say yes they are banned?
