i was wondering how can you standby if your router/modem doesn't have the button? ive herd there are other ways to do it. i know how to standby in halo2 so don't post telling me how to do that. i wondering how to standby in saints row. some1 told me that i can unpulg my cord that goes to the router from the modem for like 7 secs. would that work. post your tutorials, guides, info, etc...

First, tell me how you standby in halo2, maybe you're doing something SPECIFIC for halo2.

There may be other ways of standbying halo2 that work globally, so you never know.

to standby in halo2 u need cain and abel, and zap(zone alarm pro) and auto team standby. first get your ips throught cain and abel. then put them in the trusted zone of your zap firewall. get autoteam standby up, put up time like 1.2 down time like 2.5 here is a good site for halo 2 modding/standbying or bridging.

panzertank didn't mention that you have to bridge your connection to your computer. To bridge your connection you need either two ethernet slots (I'm not sure what to call them) or just one and a wireless connection. Two bridge you select your main connection for internet then hold shift and click on the connection that is your xbox then right click then bridge them together. You always have to like manually edit the IP for the xbox and on your computer I think.

It sort of depends on the game, some games like shadowrun completely make standbying useless. When I used to play and standby in Halo 2 I thought it was fun. When you decide standbying is useless and no fun you will make fun of the standbyers and wish they didn't. Remember it's just a rank and it'll probably get reset anyways. Yes, you would need to bridge your connection then add the IP's of your friends either using cain and abel or using commview (commview is my personal favorite) cain and able is more of a hacking software and commview is a packet sniffer or whatever so it's easier to work with :/ once you got the IP's you go into zone alarm and enter them into your trust zone and I believe you put it so nothing can get into your internet and then you'll start the game etc. I don't really remember after that.
