help with xbox live

[jebckr]

Move this to tech support.

How do I hook up xbox live for an xbox 360. I've got all the ethernet cable I need and I can't do it wirelessly. My options are to buy a router and share my internet connection with xbox live, don't want to do that. The other is run it through a cable modem, but I can't find my cable modem. I'm confused because I'm thinking I should have a cable modem somewhere.

Anyways, any help would be appreiciated.

i just take the ethernet cable, put it in the 360, and take out the ethernet cable from my comp to the modem.

idk since my wireless is upstairs i cant play live and surf at the same time =[

put one end of your eth. cable in you 360 and one in the end of your internet modem, this belong in tech support fyi,

I would do that, but I've got 2 younger sisters that will bitch if they can't use the computer(mine) while I use the xbox(mine). If possible I want both running smoothly at the same time.

get a wireless router or if you have any other internet sources around that your sisters can mooch off while you use your modem,

or if there watching videos or something on there laptop ask them to archive it for time being or just ask them or use there temperary files

or you know just ask nicely and try and comprimise, my sister loves watching me play on live try to get them to buy into it or something ect.

I'll try, 8 and 13 yr old sisters are tough to comprimise with... Oh crap, don't let cruel see this thread.

oh, another question while I'm at it. If I get a router and run the connection through my computer's modem, will there be any lag if both the computer and xbox are being played or anything of that nature.
