You do realise that things change over time right? When the average age of users was 13 it was not appropriate to have people apply to be mods. Now the average age of users is ~22. People are looking for jobs and they value work experience and a reference for their resume.

Does anyone else here actually consider that sythe.org is not in its own little pocket of trapped time but actually is moving with the rest of the universe down the timeline? It's fucking 2016. In large part practices from 2006 are no longer appropriate.

 

No this is all about you didn't get your way and now you're salty about it. You don't care if the notion had any merit or if it works, you just care that you didn't get your way.

 

Also DNT members cannot PM other members as of about a week after DNT was implemented.

 

staff positions are not medals they are volunteer jobs with significant responsibility attached to them

Unfortunately the pool of candidates we draw from value pixels on the screen above most other things due to the nature of this site. So it is quite difficult to overcome this notion that you somehow earn your staff position then sit in it forever. That's not how it works.

 

Honestly our userbase of oldfags are so backwards looking and so cliqued it's little wonder we never have any new users. We're not open to new users. We're not forward facing. We're closed up tighter than a govt building on a public holiday.

I've actually had new users in discord tell me they can't figure out how to integrate with you guys.

community activity is very significantly up, we've got people pardoning successfully who wouldn't have bothered pardoning before and I'm sure people will start paying back their victims once the pardon system is reformed and there is therefore incentive to do so


but you know fuck it lets just ban everyone again and have the same 50-100 users and 200 vaders like before since that's such a good model

Do you realize that until very recently we couldn't make large changes to the site because of the old software we were running? Do you realize that the conversion took 9 months full time to complete and still isn't completed.

Instead of bitching and moaning and asking for things to be done, join a team and make them happen.

I'm going to go back to writing SytheLib because arguing with you guys is pointless. You're not going to change your mind and you have no new information for me so I'm not going to change my mine.
