Spam Forum Required Post Count/Join Date

Anyways 3 months is fine with me. Vaders be gone for the next 3 months.

 

I'm not that active in the spam forum but I like to lurk and occasionally post. I support the 3 month join date requirement, it'll keep out the vaders.

 

I said it sarcastically. It technically is on the DNS list, however something does need to be done about this issue.

 

I support this.

 

20 posts can be "spammed" in 10 minutes. What if it were to be say, 50 posts and one week join date?

 

Can we maybe increase it to about 50 - 100 posts and set a join date?

 

I like 100 or 150.

Reason being you cannot spam that many posts in a short amount of time without being temped for spam. The majority of the time.

Almost everybody who does this gets temped for spam pretty quickly.

 

It would make the Spam Forum more enjoyable. Look at Sythe's Perm Ban thread, nearly all of them were joined that month... I support.

 

On the DNS list but I support anyways. Maybe sythe could overule it with a month for example.

 

I'm going to officially go on the record for voting for 90 days and 100 posts.

 

It's not the post requirement that's going to deter them. It's the join date requirement. Maybe a month before you can use the spam forum?

 

Vaders sometimes make the spam forum fun.

However its usually the same old crap.

As posted above by Necro, anyone can spam a set of posts within half an hour. If this is going to be done properly it should be a reasonable amount of time that they have spent on sythe.

 

If you add a time requirement for the spam forum, it will just encourage vaders to make multiple accounts at once to store for a later date.

At first I had thought about this also. But the fact will be all they did was waste their life making them because they will be thrown out.

Thats why I think X # of posts outside the spam forum is necessary also. That way they can't just rampage spam around the site and get away with it because they will be temped for spamming almost guaranteed.

 

Shouldn't be anything done tbh, it's spam. You don't have to go in there if you don't like it

i honestly still like it that way it is, Just keep it how it is, espically if your thinking of doing 20 posts.

 

While that would certainly have some effect, I'm not too sure how effective it would be. It all depends on the effort the vader is willing to put in to trolling in the spam forum.

Even a month would be acceptable, but as I see it, 3 months will have a much greater effect (for reasons in my response to blindkilla).

3 months ago, you made an account to troll a thread that was created around that time. Honestly, if you have that much dedication, props to you. However, the typical vader won't bother to do that because it'd just be pointless.

I could see them making accounts to use in the future, but it's just creating more work for them, and that's the whole point.

You're incorrect. Spam needs to be cleaned up, Sythe has shown his dislike for it, and many of the regulars are tired of the retarded trolling and repetitive posts. The vaders and newfags coming in just gets old.

I disagree with the elitism comment. A 3 month join date requirement would not affect many of the people who regularly post in the spam forum, it would be barely noticeable by them and therefore would not feed their ego in any way.

While you are correct that there's no permanent solution to the spam forum's current setup, doing this reduces the number of trolls, vaders, and headaches. The past week of the spam forum has been pretty interesting, in that there's more conversation that actually leads to something, and is fun to engage in. There's less trolling, less evaders...

Its more fun this way...
