And in fact, if she was as nonchalant as say oh idk, verts, about herself then I personally wouldn't have questioned anything at all. But instead, what I'm seeing is someone who's connected to a previously sketchy member but also following every step of social manipulation on a forum. And it's working out in her favor, so it's only responsible to question some things, it's not like anyone else is going to?

 

And this is the impression such a move has left on others.

I won't lie, far worse has happened to other members (e.g. Deathsnova) which has already been mentioned, yet it was blatant mockery, not harassment like this situation.

She is not being protected or treated any differently than any other user of this site. If anybody else had a page of threads dedicated to flaming them and they came to me telling me they had a problem with it, I'd close them all as well.

Go ahead and make all the flaming threads you wish, but the moment the person they're directed to tells me they have a problem, we're going to be back here again. It doesn't matter who its about, the fact of the matter is, its not fair that you guys feel the need to harass people 24/7 for whatever reason.

With regards to Floyd's thread, hes free to have his opinion. However, we have never allowed accusing of scamming without proof on this site, and never will. Previous Ex-Admins, or otherwise highly trusted users have returned from a 3 year break only to scam, and the bottom line is, its going to happen and theres absolutely nothing we can do about it. It would be unfair to punish people who may have good intentions.

Bottom line is, each and every thread I closed was closed because they were causing problems, plain and simple. If there are any threads that you feel did not warrant being closed, feel free to PM them to me and I'll rethink it. Do not bother PMing me Floyd's thread.

As for the title "Spam Forum is being strangled", I beg to differ, the Spam Forum is strangling the site.

That's nice, but he never accused in public, so the fact that he PMed you honestly means nothing to me.

To be fair, she seeks the attention. She's on tinychat or whatever 24/7 taking pics for all who will listen, or in some cases... pay her; and sadly, half the forum fawn over her, because 'omg, their's a girl on the internet'.

I don't disagree with you locking threads that are direct flame, that have been made to simply stir up something or instigate some sort of drama. However, all the Elena threads that I read weren't actual 'flame' towards Elena, it was actually people discussing how far other people's heads are up her ass because she's a girl, and calling them for lack of better words 'beta phaggots'. No one was actually flaming Elena from what I read/remember.

 

If I remember correctly Virus was berated for crying, which is complaining about the threads in the spam forum, and his thread was locked by n4n0. I never saw him defended as Elena has been, but as soon as you introduce an attentionwhore into the mix that just so happens to have vagina the dynamics shift completely. If new people want to come into the spam forum and actively look for attention they should expect good and bad attention, and for all of the fags drooling over a female on the internet they should be flamed for being stupid.

Essentially I have come to the conclusion that there were boundaries over stepped, threats made, and improper steps taken a la Finn-esque. If this were another member (ie Deathsnova) then none of this would have happened.

 

Just seems like shes trying to make friends to me. If there are any ban intentions, I guess we will find out soon enough, but until then we just have to wait and see.

Deathsnova has never came to me and said he has a problem with any thread that has been posted about him in the spam forum. If he did, they too would have been closed if they violate the rules. I don't close threads made about people in the Spam Forum unless they ask, because they may not want it closed or it may be a silly joke that they are in on themselves. Thats why it is so hard to moderate the spam forum.

 

Well to be honest the spam forum is made for a reason, so we can basically act stupid as say things freely if you do not want to be talked about or flamed your best option is to stay out of it, with that being said anyone who dares to venture in should know how far to take the criticism, there are no need for threads to be locked because people are crying that downgrades the section, there should also be a mod who does not get aggravated or hot headed because of what is said in there. Well all in all i always get flamed in the spam forum yet I counter attack everyone who attacks me thats the point of the spam forum. No need for a harsh Mod that goes thread locking crazy because people are crying about stupid shit. If you cant handle your section and people crying to you and you cant say " well it is the spam section deal with it" when get a less corrupted section, that my advise.

 

The spam forum wasn't made for people to flame or make fun of others. It was made as a forum for people to spam and have fun. Making fun of people and flaming them isn't fun. If you can take it, thats great, but some people can't, and thats no reason to tell them they can't participate in the spam forum.

 

Well whats fun to some isent fun to other sounds like we need another section made for the ass holes of sythe, because if you start banning people from the spam because we are having fun making fun of other people who participate then the spam forum will go to shit just like the SFA and i doubt any of us want that to happen. So maybe try and clarify the rules of the spam, because if you start banning people and keep closing people threads because some little person feels like they cant handle other talking about them who they dont even know believe it will go to hell and you will have a shit hole of mad members.

 

I'm going to have to back up Corey here. The spam forum is not intended to be a place to go to flame and degrade other users. It's one thing if the user in question is in on it and it's just a joke, but as soon as someone becomes offended and has to go to the extent of seeking help from staff to end the torment, it'sgonetoo far.

You all are the first to bitch about the site dying, and yet, you are the first to act like complete pricks to new users and drive them away. Grow Up.

 

We are not going to create a section of the forums where people can freely harass and verbally assault each other. That is just completely asinine. I understand joking around and mild flaming, but as soon as it turns to a page of users all making hate threads towards someone, that's not joking, thats not fun or funny, that's hazing, and we will not sit here and tolerate the hazing of new or old users alike.

 

Well i didn't mean actually create a section it wasn't meant to be used in that way, but I guess your right there is alot of things that are taken to far but if a user engages in a situation and then it is enhanced then he or she cries about it I don't believe the thread should be closed, because the user opened himself up to it. Just like what happened to elana she opened herself up for that then cried about it. That i believe should not happen, don't close a thread when the user thinks they have had enough. If you start shit expect shit in return, Looks like an ass smells like an ass news flash its ass. meaning dont protect an Idiot who knows what there getting thyself into.

 

I'm curious what type of reaction was expected after mods/ admins posted her picture with the title "Elena" with text "Holla at ya boy shawty." Was the reaction supposed to be something a long the lines of compliments? I really don't see the front page being spammed with "Elena" and "Holla at ya boy shawty" having any other reactions other than flaming/ harassing and making fun of the actions.

It doesn't matter. If a user feels harassed, it is their right to have it stopped, regardless of the situation.

 

Those were posted, with good intentions, in good fun, and with her permission. It in NO WAY gives ANYONE permission to begin flaming or harassing her.
