Spam Forum being strangled

I admit that I may not have went about everything last night in the best manner, but everything that I did was warranted, and that's fact. I do apologize for my hastiness in calling Magic Arrow a detriment to the site, and the rude manner in which I replied to some of the threads I closed. I was not in a good mood last night, so I'm sorry.

Regardless though, those threads did need to be closed, as I am not going to have users quit this site just because other users want to harass them. There never will be rules against having fun in the spam forum by trolling or harassing other users (except those already in place), but be prepared to have the thread closed if the user complains.

I agree with you, that user should not have been banned until proper proof was posted, but that's something you should take up with Yaroow.

 

By your logic, half of the threads in the SF warrant closure if the proper people pm'd you. If they were so inclined, those threads could be linked to you along with claims of feeling harassed, and these threads would have to be locked. I didn't participate in this whole Elena ordeal, but your logic here is flawed. As long as any flaming or whatnot that takes place in the SF isn't TOO bad, threads do not need to be locked, especially if the OP is not a flaming post.

if they are here to use the market to make money, that wont stop them leaving the site.

 

Generally it doesn't, I initially told her to just wait it out and that it'll go away eventually, but I guess she just got sick of it and was actually going to leave the site, so I had to do something. I'd rather not lose a member of the site just to keep a few threads open.

 

And then you blow up about simple threads making fun of a user. Because you obviously haven't gotten over these past few days.

When threads like these have been occurring for an inevitable long time but when it happens to be about a FEMALE, then it's not fun anymore.

Every single damn example of past users that have been given shit in the SF didn't receiver this kind of treatment from a mod. In fact, mods even participated.

Yet when the the opposite sex comes up, and people are attracted to her, then it gets personal, disorderly, and biased.

She's putting herself out there to get trolled, made fun of, harassed, etc. She even ASKED FOR IT.

She's asking for hate and as well as love.

The SF may be by definition not about, trolling, making fun of, harassing others, etc.

But the NATURE as of late of the SF is about that. If it's clearly been going against the rules of the SF for a long time, why suddenly crack down on it when we have a female involved.

I mean fuck, if this happened in any real life social setting, she would be labeled as a bitch by GUYS AND GIRLS alike.

I'm not saying I dislike her, hell, I hardly know her, but the controversy that she has been causing, damn, you can't ignore that.

Just moderate regardless of sex, regardless of if you like the person or not, because having a pic of her in anyone's sig and then when you STRONGLY support her, even going so far as ignoring your mistakes and sometimes blindly making decisions which makes it seem as if you made it out of emotions for the user instead of by a logical point of view.

Personally, I wouldn't have a pic of a user in my sig, it's going to cause controversy when you have a position of power and you're ruling in favor of said person, it just screams bias and that you're emotionally attached to that person.

Although, people would still be pissed off as hell regardless of the pic since such an event hasn't been handled in such a way. Since it's going against the nature and status quo of the spam forum.

Nobody was wrongly banned, and there's no rules against being a douchebag to users, however I did apologize for it.

Because there isn't a rule that says, "threads will be locked when user is being "douchebagged" on by fellow users."

 

You did the right thing Corey, if someone feels harassed they know they can always PM you or any mod to have the appropriate thread locked.

 

You're free to make all the threads about users in the spam forum that you like, but the minute that one complains that they don't like it, its gone (if it really is causing problems).

The reason we don't lock them unless the person complains (or at least I dont), is because sometimes the person that the thread is about doesn't care because they're just joking around.

If you'd rather users quit the site than have a few threads closed, you're welcome to make a suggestion. (no, not really)

Except that I'm pointing out the fact that he wasn't on TC considering I was and if it was really him, he would have attacked me considering the shit that I posted in his thread.

I even tried to talk to him on there and he didn't even know who I was.

Yet, he would have if it really was him.

I'm not going to take the heat for something that was dealt with by other staff members. This thread is about me and my actions so please keep anything non-relevant out of it.

Again, had it been a random newcomer "whining" as most of the staff have called it in this thread, you wouldn't have done anything unless several of us complained about it like we are now.
