Sore tailbone for months, need advice.

Hey guys, so for months my tailbone has been sore and it hurts to sit on it, I can't remember how it begun but it's been like this for quite some time.

It feels as though it's bruised, but it's not healing.

Sometimes it's very bad and sometimes it's not so bad.

I'm embarressed to go to the doctor because my butt is so hairy and i'm afraid I might be overreacting.

Things to note: I've also had blood in my shit several times, but it's been a long time since that happened last time.

Please if any of you guys know what this is help me out..

    Thanks, Dagsi.

could very well be hemrhoids. or you excerted a little too much force when you had to empty your bowels. hemrhoids are common in adults so i wouldn't be as embarresed as i would more concerned towards making sure you get the proper treatment.

One time I slipped on ice and bashed my tailbone pretty hard. For a little while after it was sore and months after that i'd randomly aggravate and it'd flare up for a day or two. It seems that for whatever reason tailbones take a long time to heal, but eventually the pain goes away (for me at least).

As long as the pain isn't interfering with your everyday activities or doesn't go away I wouldn't worry personally...and if you are worried think about all the naked old people doctors see, in comparison a hairy butt isn't too bad lol

It could be a problem with your discs. It's more then likely nothing major. Being that your on the computer it could be because of sitting down for extended periods of time, esp. without breaks/stretches.

Blood in your shit is not that unusual <- note that it can be serious, but usually its just a cut or some damage often from trauma which can also be from diarrhea. Hairy bodies are not something to be ashamed of. In fact I wish I had more body hair. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Coccydynia You might have this, and this usually can be solved without any major treatment.

I slipped on my tailbone and it never feels the same again, can't sit down on the floor for a long time. Took a few months to heal up, so I don't think you need any medical attention - but if it doesn't hurt to get evaluated just incase!

As stated above, if you've fallen on your tail bone badly it can effect you for a long time. You should consult your doctor though.

Hi mate. There seems to be only one available option which is to see a doctor. No one else would know what's wrong. Would you rather suffer all the pain or
Would you rather embarrass yourself but fix the problem in the end? Besides, you can always shave your buttocks(I'm serious) if your so paranoid about it. I reccomend that you see a doctor and get help as soon as possible before it gets worse. Thanks for sharing and hope that I helped :)

I am still sure that a doctor could still evaluate him.

    And thanks G :)

You don't need to visit a doctor for a lot of things that people think they do, however if you are EVER in constant pain or are very worried you should go. What you need to do is observe what behaviors and movements trigger pain, and what doesn't. This can help either you are a doctor evaluate what possible conditions you might have. Try to rate your pain on a scale of 1-10 while doing these actions. It doesn't sound like anything you need heavy medication/surgery for, though.

The tailbone is a VERY, can't stress that enough, VERY sensitive body part. When I was younger I was messing around with some friends and fell onto it and was literally stuck in bed for a week and a half straight. Couldn't go to school, tried everything. Heat packs, ice packs, walking it off. It's one of those pains that you can't really just push off because it affects you in anything you do. Walking, sitting, driving, moving, etc.

I'd suggest going to a doctor. My ass is hairy too, who gives a shit. I had to have my balls checked by a female doctor a couple months back because I was worried about a potential cancer growing. It's awkward but it's not a huge deal. Better safe than sorry. You've most likely got a bruise (which can never be seen on the tailbone, it's always under the skin) but worst case scenario it's something worse and possibly fatal.

Get it checked, that's probably the best advice I can give you.

My friend made a crash on his motorcycle and hurt his tailbone, it might be nothing serious if you can try to sit on a pillow for a few months it will help, it does take a LONG time to heal.
