Snorelax with insomnia =immortal Pokemon?

I heard that if you have a snorelax with insomnia and use sleep/recover in a battle, the game will glitch out somehow?

I'm not sure how this is possible, but I had battled some gym leaders with a snorlax and somehow though they where cheating because I could never beat them.

Or how the hell someone would catch a snorelax with "insomnia" if that's even possible in Pokemon go.

But curious to know if anyone else knows anything about this glitch.

 

Insomnia is an ability that prevents a Pokemon from falling asleep, but snorlax does not normally have this ability.

If combined with rest(fall asleep for a few turns and regain a % of your hp) you could become ridiculously strong, but rest fails if you use it on a Pokemon with this ability. So yeah it sounds like a glitch to me.

I've got absolutely zero experience of Pokemon go, but I used to play competitive VGC and snorlax with a move that boosted your attack/defence and resting to recover hp was a niche cheesey tactic that you could only really beat if you had a ghost type that couldn't be hit by a body slam/or some way to send it back into the opponents party using a move like whirlwind

Dude it took me 4 months to get a snorlax and people had 2-3 of them within a week of release. Its like Dragonite- everyone has one but i cant find them
