I recently moved schools and needed to make new friends, why is it that im fine around the guys but hesitate and never talk to the girls in my classes.

Please give me some advice.

You should of try and talk with them regardless what, you need to think that they aren't aliens and they are persons with whom you can talk with and they won't bite either. You just need to get used to it. Just tell them hey i am "Pete" or something like hey my name is this, whats yours? I came from there and there... Just the common stuff ..

Be confident in yourself. You think girls give a shit about shy guys? Of course not. Walk into class knowing you're the best looking guy and just take risks. Walk up to a girl and be like "Hey I just switched schools and don't know a lot of people. What's your name?" and let the conversation go from there.

That's not true at all, I like shy guys.
Do the people you hang out with also hang out with girls? If so, why not add them/her to facebook or skype? Or whatever social media she has.

I'm not sure year you're in, because for year 10, 11 and 12 we don't have P.E (Physical education) - While you're doing sport if you get put on a team with some girls try and talk to them about the sport, or about what tactics you're going to be doing for the game, it'll help build up your confidence since I'm sure from what OP said in the first post he's not confident enough to just walk up to a girl and be like "Hey I'm .... I'm new here."

Won't this be kind of awkward? This sounds like something i'd be comfortable saying to guys but for some reason I find everything I do with guys to be awkward with girls that i don't know. As a result, I have a ton of guy friends and very few friends who are girls

I wouldn't just randomly add a girl that I haven't talked to in person to Facebook/skype, imo it wouldn't be right.

All P.E and sports are co-ed, Boys and girls are seperated,

I kinda get your view point but since you've moved to a completely new area, I think you need to legitimately try to break out of your comfort zone and try to engage in a conversation. This will be hard, I'm not saying it will be easy, but I mean, how did you talk to the girls in your previous school? Surely, you can use past experiences to help guide you.

Wait, are you in high school or college/university?

It's a lot more difficult in high school because you'll probably end up seeing her pretty often, but in college/university, just talk to whatever girl you want to because worse comes to worse, you'll just never see her again.

I knew lots of the people in my old school so i'm comfortable talking to anyone. I'm not SCARED to talk to girls, just the initial first hello. If I can get over that, i'll be fine, but I can't get myself to do it.

Highschool.

You had to initially say hello the get to know all the people in your old school right? Use that to convince yourself to get the courage and say the initial hello.

Well, I didn't really give a shit about high school so I didn't socialize much, but what I do now is I just introduce myself and be like "Hey, I thought you were pretty so I wanted to say hi to you, my name's *insert name here*" or something along those lines.

It's a pretty general introduction, but simplicity works for me. Just walk up to somebody, anybody and just introduce yourself.

I also find it a lot easier to talk with guys instead of girls, but then again that's also because they are a different sex than you. You can relate to one another, but when you talk to a girl you have to talk about something that pushes your gender away from the conversation. Make it to where you can relate on a certain level, but if you actually like this girl don't be too pushy and end up being "The Gay best friend". (I have nothing against Gays, couldn't find a better way to word it :))

There is a simple solution to this: Become friends with a guy who knows a lot of the girls at your school, and then meet them through him.

That's understandable. Girls can be quite intimidating sometimes :P

Just ease into by talking to another shy girl and then keep working your way up that way. Ask them questions about homework or something then change the subject to more personal things.

Girls actually do give a shit lol, they want their man to be confident, it attracts them to you if you're confident and not shy, just be yourself.

It's all about confidence, even if you like the girl, make it feel like shes your friend, and try finding something both of you enjoy. Also talking to her over online is easier, but makes it worse in the end when you see her, if you decide to talk to her over online, and see her regularly its okay. Just be yourself, and make yourself comfortable.

Just talk to them, what's the worst that can happen? I've always had more girl friends than guy friends. They're human just like everyone else. If anything making a girl your friend as a guy is easier than making a guy your friend.

most women are very emotional unlike men men hide theyre feelings women dont
and if they dont like you thats theyre problem not yours dont be scared focus on yourself have some confidence

Force yourself to step out of your comfort zone. Trust me, you will get over the fear as time goes on. Worst thing that can happen is that you simply do not click with the girl. It's that simple. Trial and error my friend. It gets better :D

Don't see girls as potential girlfriends. Thats why girls are nerve wracking to you and boys aren't; subconciously you want them to be in to you and you want to impress them. Get out of that way of thinking. Gender is irrelevant. They're all just people. How did you get around to talking to any of the guys? That's exactly how you start talking to the girls also. If you do any group projects "mind if I join?" say "hey" to them in the halls if you pass them, ask them about the homework.. the list is endless.
