Should I join the airforce?

Honestly, I would much rather stay and study in those years, insanely and get a well-pay job. If you're serious about being in the Military for quite some time, I would really, reconsider. It's not worth it for what becomes of your future. Just stay, do some mad studying and get a good job. You definitely don't want to be working for the government either.

 

I would join the marines im going to its the air the sea and land.. so you can fly, be on the sea, and or fight in a war.. there are enginering jobs etc.. my dad was in the marines for 6 years (piolet) and airforce for 2 so its a good experiance but if you join you are stuck for three years and after the 3 years are up they can call you back for another 3 years because you will be a reserve..

I think that joining the army or anything like that is just the cowards way out. I would never die because our country always pisses people off.

 

I couldn't think of a better choice man. Starting your life in the line of duty will help you mature twice as fast as everyone and put you in the right gear for success later in life. Especially if you want to be an engineer the airforce would be good. Maybe you might want to consider AFROTC (Air Force Reserve Officer Training Corps) which they will give you a scholorship for 4 years at college and you can graduate as an officer in the airforce making over 3x the amount as in just enlisting.

I think you should go for it.

Personally I would, there's a lot of gains for you buy going in to the Air Force.
I was also planning on doing something similar trough the Army, Air Force, or the Marine and finish my studies, seeing as you get paid (in Norway you do anyways) while you're there, and you can pretty much pick up anything you want.

But now I've got 3 more years left of collage (including this year), and then again, I wasn't allowed to join the Norwegian army, since I don't live in Norway anymore, I moved to Gran Canaria..

Sure it will be hard to leave your Girlfriend, but if she really is the right one, it's not going to stop you from being with her in the future is it?

Since when is having pride for your country that you were born and raised in a bad thing. If we didn't fight for what we thought was right we could be communist right now. I don't exactly think communism is a good way of life if you ask me.

Thanks for the in depth response, but yea you do get paid for joining. Theres actually another perk they just updated about a year ago. Its called the GI bill, with the GI bill you get approx. 1100 dollars to cover costs of school books, classes and anything else. On top of income.

do it, why not. some people stay in a office all day and write on a computer. Do something for your country, that's how i look at it. Your most likely not going anywhere for 1-2months after you join tho.

 

Well I have a another friend who's in the marines he's been out of basic for almost a year now and still hasn't gone to Iraq lol. Almost everywhere in the US though haha.

 

You should join.I'm joining and going into Security Forces then I'm becoming a cop later on.

Both my brother and I are joining the airforce when we finish school. Currently doing Air Cadets. Hopefully once I turn 16 I can get my pilots license.
I suggest you do join even if its just the minimum time. It will be an experience unlike anything else.
