Should elevators and escalators be illegal?

And I don't think every human who died using an elevator or an escalator did it on purpose, didn't he?
Accidents happen, and to call them illegal is a harsh decision.
We might as well make thousands of other appliances illegal because there is a possibility one might be injured or killed by it if we use this logic.

If the government decided we will not have cars, then we will not legally have cars. It's simple. Essentially, they give us the right to those cars, which in my delusionary hell, gives them the credit to say, "We gave you that car."

Besides, if at any time the government wishes to take that car away from you, who're you going to appeal to in order to get it back?

That's the same point that I made. Not many deaths from escalator and elevator are intentional. If sticking forks in eyes got to a point to be considered made illegal, however, that would be classified as intentional.

I'm more of a natural person. I will not condone the abilities and powers of the government, but by all means, if I wish to wish a peaceful, convienent life, I will tolerate there abilities and accept the fact that no matter how much I don't like it, it's true.

 

That begs the question - why does the government have the right to decide whether or not I can own a car.

I wouldn't appeal to anybody. They have the biggest guns, and I value my life more than a car. That doesn't mean I think it's right.

 

You will never live a peaceful and convenient life with an all powerful government. Look through history and you will see that these types of government are always corrupt and always end with revolution.

I'm glad you are one of the few people who understand that I don't actually want to make escalators and elevators illegal. I don't view the whole world as black and white, but things regarding personal freedom I do view as black and white. I believe that the government has no right to punish you for being careless for your own safety and punish you for willingly causing harm to yourself.

I never said that I agreed with a corrupt government. You only assumed I did because I stated that the government has the power and abilities to decide what the nations people abide by.

I'm only stating facts. James Madison had an ideal view, but it would never work. The people can not decide for themselves.

Like I said, I do not agree with the governments ways, but I accept the fact that that is how it is.

Your facts are horrible, if everyone was using stairs the death/injury rate on stairs would rise. It's just no one uses stairs so no one gets injured/killed on them.
