Selling Gold - Advice

Hello,

First off sorry if this is the wrong place for this thread, I wasn't sure where to put it!

I'm looking to start selling 2007 gold on Sythe exclusively, I was wondering if anyone could give me any tips, to avoid scammers and charge backs. The only payment method i'm really interested in is PayPal.

I'm a web developer, I see a lot of sellers are using websites where they require personal information, phone number etc.. Is this something I should do?

having personal info of someone will cut down scams hugely, ringing them up to confirm who they are etc

 

dont sell 2 people who r new thru paypal
use pa 4 sketchy people

I signed up to player auctions about 30 minutes ago, and bought one item it said payment pending now my account has been suspended :S

Using a verfied paypal I have used for over a year to do over 1,000 transaction provided real legit information, going to send off an email now

 

it might be because you have another old account already

 

Oh maybe how can I get it unsuspended? I have an old player auctions account, I don't remember the username, I sent an email and 5 week days later nothing so I made a new one and it gets banned... They probably taken my money too

When selling on paypal, the only real way to avoid a chargeback is to sell only to users who you deem trustworthy. Do larger orders, 300M+ via WU. 100M+ orders through playerauctions.

Having someones personal information won't change a thing, to be quite honest. I was scammed $200 AUD, have the kids phone number confronted him, and it didn't change a thing. Best option is playerauctions and trading with trusted users.

Yeah it was thanks! My PA acc was old had my old number so they couldn't get in contact I hit them up with another email hopefully get it sorted soon!

 

Having the personal information is to prevent the person from using a stolen paypal. Since the main ways people can send fraudulent payments is through stolen paypals, claiming unauthorized transaction, and filing a non-receipt dispute.

There is always a risk of being charged back but you can lower the risk.

Stolen Paypal: Make the person verify their identity etc.

Unauthorized Transaction: Make sure the money is sent from paypal balance and not a credit card. Make sure the money is sent from the person's actual IP and not a VPN.

Non-Receipt Dispute: I think if the money is sent as a gift to friends/family you cannot file this dispute. Also having a note stating it is virtual goods helps lower the chances of the person winning since paypal does not cover virtual goods.
