Sell Santa Before the Free Trade Update?

55mil is to much for an item that is only used to "show off"
It's ugly.
No one likes them.

There are thousands of them still in game.

Exactly. I bet a lot of rares will be lost. There are no more rares being added in-game, I suggest keeping it. Besides, you shouldn't care if it drops to 1 gp, it's an item which is not in the game anymore.

 

I would care A LOT if it dropped to 1GP. I bought it for investing, and only for investing.

That logic comes from someone who has never owned a rare.

OT: I say sell it before the update. The only reason rares got expensive was they were being bought out of the GE. Now with free trade coming back and with the limits being removed, it'll be impossible to buyout.

 

Rares will rise, in a long run, because of the whole GE and free trade thing, the rares market is in panic, and no prices are stable at the moment.

Only reason rares "rose" is because they cannot come into the game.
Causing NO supply.
And there being no FT and only set prices, it's EASY profit to buy out an item that has NO supply.

Now that FT is back, it'll go back down. All rares will.

680m for a blue phat. Why? You can't even "use" it for anything good. All rares are good for as for making friends who just want to scam you.

ill be honest Santa may drop because of the number of people coming back who will have them and may end up selling them right of to get money to stake or what ever. They will go up after the big raid of people that come back and settle. Maybe a little while though.

 

ive noticed alot of stuff is dropping so yeah i would go with selling it. i sold all my rares so i just have cash until it all crashes. then buy it back as it starts going back up.

Well... It could work both ways, honestly can't be sure in my opinion.

This is sort of how I see it...

There will be so much money circulating when free trade comes back (because of real world trading, money being handed over accounts etc.), that possibly the demand for rares will go up tenfold, thus increasing the price of rares (people will have money to spend on rares).

It really depends on what people who have rares do, if the bulk of rare owners keep their items obviously the price of rares would go up. Because there would be so much money circulating which would increase the demand (again, people will have money to spend on rares).

To add to that, if rare owners sell everything now before free trade, then prices could possibly go down because no-one wants them anymore due to the confusion, but will eventually end up rising again when the next wave of people purchase them.

tl;dr: If it was me, I'd keep the Santa hat and expect a drop after free trade, but knowing that they'll eventually rise again in the future, probably even more so than now.
