Seatbelt Laws

It would have to be proven that you did it on purpose. Which would mean they would have to find a reason for it, and if its a last minute decision because the guy walked out in front of them, then i doubt you will get anymore more than a repair fee and a trip to the police station.
A little girl was playing behind a car, a person jumped in the car, and backed up, hit the girl, and left. He didn't know he hit something, he didn't kill her on purpose, but he was charged with manslaughter and had to serve 2 years.
Because, they only want money and cause nothing but madness. The cops ALL need to take it down a notch, and don't "care" at all.
I'm not talking about all of the cops. I'm talking about the ones that actually care about you. Like cops that catch you with weed and it's your first time. They talk to you about it, take it away from you, and let's choose what you want to choose. But if it happens again, they'll probably arrest you.
You can't stop human stupidity. By parenting people you are only increasing stupidity. The only way to stop stupidity is to give people responsibility and let them suffer consequences for their actions.
Most people don't care if they have their own responsibility. They will still act stupid. And do stupid things, because they have they're own responsibilities. Because they say no one else should care what they do, even if it involves someone else.
Why the fuck should you care about people who don't even care about themselves? And what gives you the right to punish them for it?
Someone has to.
Controlling is making someone do something because you know you can make them do it. Caring is completely different.
I'm not defending all cops. I'm defending who actually care about your well-being by showing you how to preserve you're life.
How can I make this clear... IT HAS NOTHING TO DO WITH OTHERS. I'm totally off the seatbelt subject, completely.
I just explained it in a scenario how it does. Thanks for getting off the subject.

Well then they will suffer the consequences of their actions. And if it involves someone else then they will be punished for it, just like you get punished today for impeding on someone's rights.

Someone has to.

What if I don't want your help?

Oh, I know much on the subject. I also know that in reality, things aren't like that.

What you fail to realize is that leeching off of concepts and actions in the past is a grave mistake, considering how most of these concepts no longer apply.

Why don't these ideas and concepts apply today? We are still living in the same country with the same constitution that we had 200 years ago.

Arya, then wouldn't you support abolishing an institution which seeks to impose it's will on people, using violence if necessary?

People change along with the times.

Depends on what it's will is.

Seatbelts will save your life so buckle up. I do not feel pity for people who get a ticket for not buckling up. Adults should buckle up to set an example of safety for their children and the children should follow the parent. Usually children are placed in a car seat.

I think Seat-belt Laws Should be Enforced.
It "CAN" Kill you Doesn't mean It will but Just think...If your Going around 75MPH On the Interstate and You get Rammed In the side of your car Or anywhere on the Car Im And your not wearing something to Hold you back At all Im pretty sure You'll get Injured. Just imagine A car I don't know lets say It ways Ten Thousand Pounds (No I don't study cars,I dont even know if thats the Average weight of a car" And hit you at a Good 75MPH Just use your Imagination on what Could happend. But Seat-belt Isn't a 100% Chance of It saving your Skin. But they should Still be Enforced.

How so? How is a person 200 years ago different from a person now, and how does that have anything to do with the way they are supposed to be governed?
Time's change, they are exposed to different things, taught differently, choices change, personalities change, and what people think best for them usually change by generation.
What if I don't want your help?
If everyone didn't want anyone else's help and they didn't care about losing their life then there would be no citizens. They are protecting their own people.

Getting in a car accident "CAN" kill you but that doesn't mean it will. What's your point?

Time's change, they are exposed to different things, taught differently, choices change, personalities change, and what people think best for them usually change by generation.

I wasn't even going to begin to entertain such a question, so thanks.

Why the hell wouldn't you wear a seatbelt anyways? and yes they are trying to make parents into better role models for there kids but honestly i dont think kids these days are that friggin dumb not to wear a seatbelt. the amount of deaths on the roads is just going to keep getting higher and will cost the governments even more, so its kinda a win-win situation.
Governments spend less money on deaths n shit and people dont die.

I wasn't even going to begin to entertain such a question, so thanks.

Probably because you can't even answer it. You think more control equals good, but it's completely the opposite. All totalitarian and communist governments fail, please stop being so close minded.

Time's change, they are exposed to different things, taught differently, choices change, personalities change, and what people think best for them usually change by generation.

The desire for personal freedom is a characteristic of humanity that will never change. If you take freedom away, all you have are slaves. History shows 100% of the time that when you take freedom away from people, the people will revolt. This will never change so I don't know what is going through your mind when you say these things.

If everyone didn't want anyone else's help and they didn't care about losing their life then there would be no citizens. They are protecting their own people.

Dude... you don't seem to understand very well. You can't protect me from myself, I can go in my car right now, not put on a seat belt, and drive 100 mph into a wall, what good is your seat belt law now? If another country is invading, then no shit, the army can actually protect people from that by fighting the invading army. I can go kill myself whenever I want and no law stupid law is going to stop me from doing so. And what exactly gives someone the authority to forcefully protect their own citizens against their will? I don't want anyone's fucking help, thank you very much.

Many flaws in that :

If the guy went to back up, and he looked then he would of saw the girl. Unless she was crouched down or laying down.

But, even in that case how the hell would he not notice that he ran over/hit something? I hit a skunk the other day, and i knew i hit it without even seeing it. I bet you could tell something that big. Not to mention the impact on the car, let alone if he ran her over.

Seat belts also cause deaths too, some people have died while wearing seat belts, if they had not of been wearing them, they would of went out the windscreen.

I also know a person who wents through the front wind screen of his car at 70mph and broke his back, he wasn't paralized thankfully... But still lived.

Stop avoiding the question, and answer it.

"You think more control equals good, but it's completely the opposite. All totalitarian and communist governments fail, please stop being so close minded."

Is not a question.
You have no idea what you're talking about, do you ?

"Sigh" Not that, this: "How so? How is a person 200 years ago different from a person now, and how does that have anything to do with the way they are supposed to be governed?"

You're still avoiding it...

And further, why does this: "You think more control equals good, but it's completely the opposite. All totalitarian and communist governments fail, please stop being so close minded." Mean I'm not debating intelligently?

Well, if your in a full-on car accident head-to-head. A seat belt most likely under most circumstances isn't going to help you much. But if your in a mediocre accident, you wouldn't hit your airbag as hard as you would without a seat belt on, and possibly save you from snapping your neck and/or cutting off your air supply.
