I used to like metal when I was like 14. Some of my friends played in bands and there were a lot of venues around where I lived. Majority of the bands that played were awful though. The song you posted is weak too. The only thing that can make a metal band good and stand out from the rest is the instrumentals. This is one I can actually listen to.

Metal concentrates more on instruments, while screamo is based on pretty much all vocals. In other words, screamo is a joke compared to metal.
