You're obviously a nerd. It doesn't matter if you go to school with a bunch of wealthy elitist brats or if you go to school in the Brooklyn ghetto, people are going to judge you buy your clothes. If you don't think so then you need to open your eyes and take a look around. Preppy kids hang out with preppy kids. Gangstas hang out with gangstas. It's all determined by your dress. If you're thinking "no, its not because of their dress, they hang out because they have similar interest" then think about what would happen if a preppy kid who likes rap music tried to join their group. Obviously things wouldnt work out.

Also, wait until you go to college and try to get into a fraternity. Generally guys are required to maintain a certain style of dress for certain activities. Obviously you aren't expected to wear polo's to the gym, but you get the point. And for girls it's even worse. MANY sororities have rules regarding what styles and brands girls are and are not allowed to wear.

I am all for school uniforms for the following of reasons.

    1. The school uniform is unique to different schools, so they are easily identified by teachers, parents and the general public.
    2. There is no "I have better clothes, shoes, style etc." with a school uniform, as it is the same for everyone.
    3. School uniform promotes your certain school which can be a good thing, and also a negative.

Although I am for school uniforms I do believe there are some faults in it.

Yeah, I must totally be a nerd. [/sarcasm]

I agree with your second paragraph in which frats and sororities have certain ways to dress, but that's college. In high school, some of the most popular kids at our school wear whatever the fuck they want because no one cares. It's like, if someone comes to school wearing a bright orange jacket and green pants, "Oh yeah hes [sonso], hes hilarious!".

At our school, people know which people are rich, reguardless of what they wear. One kid at our school has a 3-4 million dollar house and they wear regular cloths from the Gap and Super Target.

I also agree there are those few girls who will be like "What is she wearing? It looks so gross on her" or something like that. But seriously, your a fucktard if you judge people by what they wear.
