Ever hear the legend of Prometheus? He was crucified i believe in a valley, where birds come and pick away at his internal organs, they would grow back, and it would happen again the next day. forever. heavy stuff :sick:

I thought of some other horrific ways to die to add to this thread:

The Medieval practice of castration. If you read an article on Wikipedia about this, it will actually make you sick to your stomache. They flip you upside down so that all the blood rushes to your head and you are unable to pass out, making you completely conscious and aware of the entire ordeal. You face the crowd as your spermatic cord is snipped and your balls are mutilated.

Apparently, people used to go to watch beheadings and hangings all the time and were completely unphased by it. In fact, the villagers used to laugh and jeer and throw rotten vegetables at the person being executed. But in the article I read, apparently the crowds would be completely horrified watching somebody being castrated and people would regularly vomit and have to leave. Seriously, do some reading about it. It made my nuts hurts.

Also, dying on Mount Everest would suck. I've been doing a lot of research lately about people who have managed to summit on Mount Everest. Something like 1 out of 6 people who attempts to reach the summit will die, and the conditions in the death zone are SO BAD that they almost always have to leave your body up there. The death zone on Mount Everest - the point above 8000 meters - is literally a human graveyard, littered with frozen bodies which the climbers have to step over on their way to the summit.

Dying up there is a slow process - you slowly freeze to death as your extremities all become frost bitten and numb, you gasp for breath every second as the air up there is extremely thin and only carries 1/3 the amount of oxygen that the air does at sea level. This causes hallucinations and makes the struggle for air a horrible ordeal. Also, if you collapse in the death zone of Mount Everest climbing with your team, or if a team of climbers comes across you trapped and alone up there, 90% of teams will move on without you and leave you to die on your own. The amount of energy and oxygen it takes to rescue a fallen climber risks everybody else's lives, and most people are too selfish to give up their own dreams of reaching to summit and to risk their own life to help another person who is dying in the snow and ice right before their eyes. I think that would be a truly brutal way to die if you had any sort of consciousness left, and you were able to realize that people would rather step over your body and continue the climb rather than get down and try to help you off the mountain.

 

I scared to death of sharks so hanging (like off a boat or something) above the ocean just high enough so sharks are only able to jump up and bite my legs off

 

Every way to die is scary imo L0l.
But i would say waking up in a strangers room. tied up. and seeing the murderer kill you... would be f'ed up.

 

I would say being drowned as I couldn't imagine not being able to breathe

Being forced to play superman 64 without sleep, listening to one direction on constant until my being ceased to exist. Like everytime I nearly fell asleep, a small electric shock would zap me in the balls to keep me awake...that would be the worst for me. You'd probably die of heart failure or something but the thought of knowing that your last hours on earth will be just so shit makes it just.. unbearable.

 

scariest way imo would have to be getting trapped underneath ice, like in the movie Jumper, he gets swept underneath ice but doesn't die, just that made me think how awful it would be to drown to my death

 

If you have ever seen the film hostel... Like that.

Obviously most ways of dying suck though.

Burning is the most painful way IMHO, but not the scariest. The scariest would be dying in an unknown enviroment, by a non-standart cause (e.g. with you being unprepared for the death), for example, tortured in some abandoned house, eaten alive in a junge, etc.
