    Scam Rate vs Donation Tier

I'm curious what the scam rate of Donation tiers is...
Like how many people who donated $5 have ended up being a scammer and banned compared to $100 Donators, etc.

This would probably be something you have to research on for yourself. I’m sure there’s the good and the bad at all tiers.

I'm planning to analyze this along with the trading/posting patterns of known scammers.

Check previous reports of scammers, check the users then the donation level. Collate info. Done.

You will probably see a pattern emerge. I believe that would be the easiest way to get that information.

Mostly $100-200 donors who donate from the get-go and start farming vouches. Usually leads to big scamquits. Haven't seen that many $5 donors scam though.

    For sure.

Quality of their vouches and posts is crucial imo. Lots of em get 200+ posts within a week by posting random shit on every service thread out there. Imagine having 1 day old sythe account and suddenly pop up with a phd in rs services/trading outta nowhere. That's sketchy af.

Yes, yes ofc I am smart. I don’t see anyone else advising what’s the easiest way to do it. ‍

Funnily enough mainly vaders scamquit, donate the scammed money, look “trustworthy” and then scamquit more and repeat the process. So it doesn’t matter what or how much they donate. It’s all an investment for vaders to scam. You see it happen when they get real trustworthy have much higher donations, but scamquit with a way higher profit.

    Scam Rate vs Donation Tier

I'd wager that the correlation between "likelihood of scamming" and "time between join date and donation date" is stronger than it is for "donor amount in dollars" (percentage-wise, at least). Pretty sure we've had scammers up through the $1k donation level in the past, and I'm sure I'm forgetting some.

What could be interesting is a suggestion asking for more information on users' donation timing, in addition to donation amount. For example, knowing the difference between someone who donated $500 six days ago vs. someone else who donated $500 six years ago could be valuable when trying to decide who to do business with in the marketplace. There's definitely some aspect of this which users would want to keep private, and I'm not advocating for full disclosure on this stuff, but I'm sure there's more we could do without too much trouble.
