RuneScape Update: "Alchemist's Amulet"

Looking on the RuneScape homepage I came across this...


You can win 5.1m RSGP just by spinning on the Squeal Of Fortune. Yeah I know there's a 200m/400m reward on there too, but It's like they're pumping too much "free money" into the RuneScape economy. I don't know, to me these rewards seem a little 'desperate'. It's as though they're scraping the barrel for ideas on how to get people to buy spins... Pretty ridiculous if you ask me.

So, how much longer until you can directly buy gold from Jagex?
I noticed in a recent post by a JMod on the RuneScape home page (found by clicking here) that they don't intend on ruining RuneScape and they won't introduce anything like that. Buy to me this is one step closer...

 

They wont directly allow you to buy gold from them because it would dismiss the RWT rule they've had since the beginning, they'll just use ways to get around it and cover it up by selling zeals.

 

It is really sad that they are doing this stuff.
But I free GP wont hurt me

 

wait, you have 3 days to get them, do you have to use them in that 3 days? what will happen if you wait (cause you want more), and then the 3 days are over?

Mod MMG has said directly on the homepage that they will never sell RSGP, accounts, or exp directly in exchange for cash. He acknowledged that they could make 10-15x more revenue every year doing that compared to both solomon's general store and SoF combined, but that despite the short-term positive effects, it would ultimately lead to the death of the game, and their whole goal is longevity.

 

Yeah so instead they disguise their profit margins increasing through these backhand ways of selling GP. It just happens to be a potential thing you can win on the SoF, and with promotions such as this making the coin reward much higher, people want spins more.

tl;dr: Officially they sell spins when it really is GP and Exp

 

Got two of them on my mauler, Just seems like they're desperate for you to buy spins now.

 

This is ridiculous and exactly the reason why I quit this game.

 

This amulet is just a scam, you will get the first pieces and of course want to buy more spins. Just a marketing ploy to make you spend your cash on spins -.-

 

Just a smart way to Legitly encourage a way to buy RSGP. They mayaswell just open a shop that sells GP within the site. Only thing left to do to ruin the game completely.

The 5M is pretty cool I guess. 10 free high alchs is pretty lame... That's like 3K...

 

That's pretty cool. Although it seems like jagex is indirectly selling gold...

 

Basically they are. They won't sell it directly because they know they'll get a lot of crap from the community about it and because they probably are making more money this way.

 

I haven't liked any of these updates, ever since sof was released. Not much I can do about it though. Quitting doesn't really help either, I don't think that's going to stop jagex. For every person who quits there's another spending $20 on sof/solomon.

You need to collect as many fragments before monday. After that, You won't be able to obtain anymore fragments.

 

If everyone hates Jagex so much why do you all play? I mean they are a company. Jagex is just like apple another company putting new stuff to make $$$.

Squeal has always been about buying xp/items/cash. It's just a retarded version of an item mall lol. Fagex know the game's dying and are rinsing it for all the money they can.
