Runescape in 10 years?

This gravedig was more relevant than most of the others I see happening; I guess I just saw the last-post date and raged a little inside.

Anyway, on-topic: I'm also of the conviction that Rs won't exist in 10 years. It doesn't have the diversity.

I think Runescape will definitely be around in 10 years, possible in 2 incarnations - a browser based version with current "HD" graphics, and a console version. If another alternative to Java comes up then I don't see them moving over, as to rewrite the entire game to another language at this stage would be a humungous job.

I read somewhere in an interview about Jagex working to remove the tick-timer of the game and working on console versions, also working on navigating the character with arrow keys.

Not sure if that will go ahead, but it sure opens up the game to non-keyboard consoles.

In 10 years? Quite honestly i doubt it will even be around.

Its already outdated by alot of FREE MMO's. Yet alone paid ones like World Of Warcraft.

Was better in the beginning, it'll keep getting shittier until its gone if you ask me.

I actually think in 10 years runescape will still be going, Just with better upgrades, I think a runescape 3 will come out, Jeez imagine how much party hats will be worth in 10 years!

 

In all seriousness look at all the former MMORPG's that were popular 10 years ago. No one really knows them except for former players and people who just know videogames.

i mean look updates some useful some just plain pointless like hp one unneeded,
i got to admit they did make the game more easy so more players will play

but in the long run it will start to decline

 

I find it really funny that this was posted over two years ago. Should have been 'runescape in 3 years.' That would have been interesting to hear from the past.
