Frankly, I am quite disappointed that Jagex has reduced themselves to pretty lawsuit threats in order to scare a bunch of 12 year old kids into packing up their bots for good. Not all botters are young kids of course, but those are the ones that will be most affected by these empty little threatening messages that Jagex are sending out.

If I got one of those, I would indeed by worried about my account being banned like N4n0 is, but I wouldn't even take them seriously for 1 second regarding their threat of a lawsuit... I highly doubt a company in the UK could sue me all the way across the world for simply using a third party program to "cheat" in their game. (This is not speaking of my personal situation of course as I have hardly ever botted in Runescape myself, but rather I am speaking as if I had recieved one of these threats myself).

In the end, I don't blame Jagex for trying to file lawsuits against the big bot making companies or the massive chinese gold farming companies that run thousands and thousands of bots and ruin the spirit of the game. But threatening lawsuits against young kids that bot their account once in awhile to gain some stats while they are busy at school is pretty pathetic. This is most likely just scare tactics.

But like N4N0 in all seriousness, you could easily buy a maxed account from your money made by hosting in like a day..

That just doesn't have the same sentimental value that your very own account does. Not to mention 10x less secure than an account you created on your own.

I'd say it depends on who you buy it from, I have sold many accounts and have never had any issues with buyers. Also I will vouch for the SimplyPures website/business, I bought an account from them and never had any issues.

Yeah its true, obviously there are legit sellers out there. But the majority of account sellers are dirty scumbags lol. Statistics show that most accounts that are sold are recovered eventually down the road. Its unfortunate, but true.

But that wasn't even the main point of my comment :p I think the sentimental value is far more important. I dunno, maybe other people wouldn't feel the same, but I have worked hard to achieve all the stats of all the accounts I own and so if any of them ever got banned, I would be pretty choked just because I wasted so many hours grinding my ass off just to end up with a banned account.

But once again - it all depends on the account. If you buy a pure g-mauler or something, thats kind of different than buying a main with tons of 99 stats (like the one N4n0 posted). Those accounts are made for 1 purpose - to have as much fun as possible. A main is slightly different, as it is filled with years of memories, achievements, good times etc.

But yes I do agree that simply pures & skillers have a great reputation ;) I've never purchased an account myself but I have only ever heard great things.

So what your saying is, Jagex didn't ban you because they wanted to keep gaining money from you...

Damn you jagex, you lied to us again -_-

Did the same thing with my account. I truly believe this is just bluff on their part.

This sums it up pretty well. I've had that account since like 2003. It went from a Pure/Pker to a Main after my first main was perm muted. Since then it's been my pride and joy (Even though it's botted to hell :p )

Yeah I can totally understand that :p I've botted very little myself, but I have 2 accounts that I have had since RSC, and one of them for just over 10 years! The accounts aren't even THAT great, but I would still be devestated if I were to lose either of them, as all my memories of truly enjoyable gameplay in this game stem from times I had on both accounts, especially back in earlier RS.

I'm sure you know what your doing, but if I were you, I would just lay low for awhile and avoid any third party macro software until this whole thing has blown over and Jagex has calmed down a bit. Losing a couple weeks of botting time is chicken scratch if you compare it to losing your account permanently forever. Good luck with whatever happens! I think being offered a second chance is actually very lucky :)

Its a legitimate case currently, but it will never fall through for one reason:

Jagex is attempting to sue for "damages" caused by us. The reason their law suits fall through on other companies is because they can't put a price on gold. If they attempt to put a market-price on gold to prove their point they will be run into the ground for providing a gambling gateway (another legal issue Jagex is currently dealing with). The latter would cost them much more.

In terms of legal cost it is no problem. Their case is against Does; as in every single person who is "caught". If they win their case they merely need to submit proof for each individual player and collect. The only reason they would be forced to go to court for a player is if a player wants to fight his individual case in court (which quite frankly would be a bad move).

That's a pretty freaky message, I hope you don't get banned!
