Gl n4n0, luckily I didn't receive that message on any of my account inboxs/emails...was a little worried I would considering I was running ~20 bots at any given time

I'm sure you'd cry too if all the time you spent on that account since 2004 was simply just taken away from you . Whether it was botted or not , it still took a lot of time to achieve just to see it removed .

If any of us get named in this, I'm all for helping organize a pool to help pay for decent lawyers in this case.

 

I don't think a lawyer is necessary unless Jagex broke any data protection act or privacy act when the obtained details of people who have used botting software.

 

Jagex's new stance on botting is pretty harsh, though somehow I doubt that they would take the effort to prosecute everyone bots after the update yesterday.

 

They are filing a lawsuit. Their claims of copyright infringement and damages are shaky at best, but without a lawyer defending "John Does," it will be a really easy case for them to win.

 

Agreed they could crush an individual who breaks the "agreement", but there's going to be over 10k players botting again when rsbuddy hits the ground running again. That's alot of $$$ to spend pursuing individuals.

 

The case is against everyone at once if I'm reading it correctly. Like a reverse class action lawsuit.

What they claim is that by selling RSGP it is selling what is theirs, making it illegal. However, many people have confirmed it not to be so. Plus, I don't think Jagex's copyright extends to the US
