rs3 dying?

They should kill of rs3, transfer whatever xp you had on rs3 to 07, then go from there...

 

exactly lol, 10% of the worlds have over 200 people most of the time. :')

The game has been losing ground since they screwed up with the GE. I don't think RS will come back unless they make an entirely different game and call it Rs.

Runesape has been dying since 2010. Kind of obvious by now.

 

Since 2012 actually, in 2010-2011 it had active worlds still. 2012 it started to dramatically lose players.

 

Yeah i remember when it used to be 170,000-250,000 players online at a time.
To be honest they just fucked up too much times and they don't really fucking advertise either.

 

They do advertise. Seen their commercial before. The thing about the game is, it's basically a "grind now, have fun later" type of game. The trailer doesn't give a good description of what the game is actually about.

 

I actually like this idea. As long as I don't have to start from scratch it would be worthwhile.

 

This quote sums up RS perfectly. Their ideas of transforming the hiscores probably would've killed the game honestly. Thank God they finally started listening to players. It's amazing what happens when you listen.

 

EOC ruined Runescape but it won't kill the game completely because of all the 12-year-old girls it appeals to. 2007 RS is the place to be tbh.

 

I can't run RS 3 without lag...and it's not all on Jagex's end...my computer just doesn't run it well. It's old...it can only handle 07. :/. I know.. I need an upgrade..working on it.

 

Moving my post here, since the other thread is basically the same and I feel I've made a few good points.

It saddens me to see the population on worlds so low nowadays, however with that being said. I really think everyone is underestimating the lifespan of Runescape.

Nowadays it seems like 10% of the players left from the 'glory days' make up 90% of the Runescape profit. Micro payments, 07, etc.

I could see Runescape being around for another 5 years or so. The numbers will never be as high as they once were, but it'll stay around. There's always going to be people playing. Now at what point does it get to where Jagex says we can't operate anymore- idk.

Here's my theory on why Runescape won't grow any larger than what it is currently at.

I personally started playing Runescape in 2005, and I'd be willing to bet that the majority of you started plying around this time period +/- a few years, right?

Well, look at the game as what it was then- Simple as could be. There wasn't a flashy tutorial island trying to impress you, items worth billions of GP, or a stuck up "veteran" community running around complaining about how bad the game is and how it was better in the "golden days".

For me, Runescape was simple enough for me to really get into and want to "explore the massive MMORPG by Jagex Ltd." Yet, extensive enough to where I was always challenged and kept me interested with the game.

If a new player was to start playing Runescape for the first time ever today what do you think they're impression would be? Terrible. Hell, it's even terrible for me since I don't play EoC much.

Jagex has been catering (Trying, but failing to do so) to the current player and sucking every penny possible out of them. They said hell to the new players we're not getting many of them nowadays. Which if they attempted to, the health of the game would look much more promising now.

Anyways, I'm going on a little temper tantrum here so I'll stop typing because I know you've stopped reading quite awhile ago.

TL;DR No new players; Game dies eventually.

Almost every commercial is never actually about the product. Look at beer commercials for instance. They sell emotion and the good times you'll have WHILE drinking their product. The drink is secondary. The same with Jagex's commercials they make it look very appealing to people so it sparks an interest. Once they see what it is actually about 9 times out of 10 they won't play it simply because it didn't look that way on TV/Youtube etc. I'm sure most people know this but the past few years they've been extremely commercialized. Which is why rs will be fucked until they admit their errors and correct them. Daily there's like an average of 25-30k people on. Remember post-eoc era when 250-300k were on daily? They need to get a fucking clue and see where they went wrong. Otherwise rs is going to die within five years.

 

Excellent post. Could not agree more. I am also from 2005 and have the same exact sentiments.

 

rs3 is the living dead it already was killed now it just roams around aimlessly until it fully deteriorates

 

I'm going to have to agree with this post really, except I started playing around late 2002. I've been with RS for such a long time and I can honestly say yeah some of the updates are completely horrid, but I still find alot of enjoyment out of the game even in it's current time. :laugh:

 

Only thing keeping RS3 alive is the 07 and the people still trying to milk every last bit of money they can make from EOC like botting and farming. Eventually they will need to think of something or just give up as a whole.
