Require in-game stats of accounts for account sales

This update in ruling applies to all subsections in those categories:
OSRS Accounts
RuneScape 3 Accounts

Considering some rules are quite obvious, though non-written rules, some staff have the tendency to apply their own ruling on such post reports, which for some reason often seem to be against my favor, even when I'm quite sure I'm in the right.

The following instances were correctly ruled:







Those are few of the many I've previously reported which contained OSBuddy stats, rather than the actual in-game stats. Those stats can be looked up by anyone. For example, I could pretend to own the Zezima account with this image cropped:



Today I've reported this thread which obviously contains OSBuddy stats, however the post report was denied as apparently his pics are fine.

Therefore I wish an edit to be made to all sticky threads for RS account sales to state the proof for stats is meant for ingame stats, rather than OSBuddy (or any other client) stats.

... Even though it's already obvious considering there's already examples, but you know, so that I can atleast refer to the official rules proving staff wrong, rather than just telling them they're small minded.

 

In support, if doing the opposite of what @Wortel is proposing has truly caused scams/trouble. (maybe you can give some examples of scams/trouble occurring to give a bit more substance to the thread)

Otherwise, no support. Procedural rules should have blatant practical reasons

 

Why would you need to proof owning an account if you don't actually have to own the account? If you think this suggestion should be denied then you might aswell just request all rules to be removed, and wait for stuff to become a problem, to then solve them.

The reason this has never been a problem is because having OSBuddy stats shown has always been against the rules, however this ruling still doesn't seem to be obvious to some staff members, therefore I'm requesting it to be officially added to the rules, even though it was already against the rules.

Assuming that it really exists, sure I agree that it should be enforced, what's the point of having the rule otherwise.

Having said that, as far as I can see, in the account section, most people already list their accounts in-game and not through OSbuddy. My initial point was something in the spirit of 'why fix something that isn't broken'. I'm not really following your point on your prognosis of this becoming a bigger issue. My question to that is: why concretely should we expect more people to list their accounts through OSbuddy and why exactly is this a problem?

To anticipate the response on the second part of my question: if a user is going to get scammed by a nobody who has linked nothing more than an obscure OSbuddy screenshot, then that user should not only really scratch himself behind his ears, but I think it's also fair to say that comparatively, he is more likely to get scammed by a scammer who posts more convincing information of the account (this isn't a strong comparative argument, it just illustrates that we can go through and through developing procedural rules on account presentation, but in the end, buyers are required at least some sort of common sense to protect themselves and there really isn't a thing that makes up for that...)

Having written all of this, I still have a feeling that we might not be on the same wave regarding your suggestion, maybe I'm not seeing something!
