My name is Jebadiah the Wise Man (http://sythe.org/member.php?u=164350) and I’m banned for evading a ban set on this account: http://sythe.org/member.php?u=93731 and this one: http://sythe.org/member.php?u=140055. Please be advised that when I made the second account, I didn’t know enough about Sythe to know that evading was against the rules. I previously submitted a pardon request in December. I think it was shot down in the voting stage. I was banned for scamming someone out of either 500k or 1m ($2-$4 based on prices of the time). I accepted my ban for about 6 months after that until July 2008 when I decided to come back and try to make a couple dollars training accounts. I never ended up getting past the free/ accumulating vouches stage. Most of my market activity came in the form of buying services rather than selling them and outside of that, most of my posts came from the Off Topic forums. Throughout my tenure here I helped several people with questions, reported about 5 scammers and completed free services for 6 people, two of which (Finn and Greg) are/were staff. I don’t know what the value of Greg’s opinion is as an ex-staff member but he is a friend of mine and I know he will vouch for my value to this community. I have made several trades while banned, mostly buying gp from both Sythe users and from PA and with the exception of one scam attempt against me, they all went well.
Since 2008, when I was JTWMSH1, I have matured immensely. You can watch me grow up, so to speak, by watching the way that my posts have changed over the years. Take this post from 2010, for instance: http://sythe.org/showthread.php?p=7588239#post7588239 and compare it to this one, from 2007: http://sythe.org/showpost.php?p=2718299&postcount=303.
In April 2010, I was removed from my High School Badminton team for coming to matches high, skipping school, and generally being irresponsible. I was devastated. Had I been able to stay, I would have been a part of my fourth team championship and would probably have won the individual championship as well. No single even in my life has changed me more than that. It taught me responsibility for my actions like nothing else could have.
I would also like to share an experience that gave me an understanding of how it feels to be stolen from and made me as anti-theft as I am today. I was at a rave, tripping on mushrooms, having the time of my life, when someone I didn’t know gestured for me to come to him, outside. I did, and he shoves a lit cigarette into my face, burning me badly, throws me to the ground, and removes my wallet from my pocket. This would have been horrifying under normal circumstances but being attacked while tripping is probably the scariest thing that can happen to a person. Since then, I have both been free of hard drugs and taken a strong stance against stealing in all its forms.
It’s these experiences that have brought me to where I am today. I am sorry for my wrongs in the past. I understand the severity of my offenses and why scammers and evaders cannot be dealt with lightly. Nonetheless, I think I deserve a pardon because it was so long ago and I have changed for the better in that time. Thank you for your consideration and I hope that you decide in my future.
If I need to be reached for any reason, [email protected] is my msn.
