If you mean renting out your own account, im pretty sure ban risk is high.

I have been hearing a lot of negative things about maxed mains being banned recently so if you are planning to do this, I would ensure that you either have a big budget or wait until bans die down a little bit.

 

I don't think anyone knows if a ban is going to "die down a bit."

 

Depends, on weekends, I know for sure, as an avid RuneScape player, that bots are less likely to get banned. So maybe Jagex may prioritise bug fixes/banning bots over sharing accounts/renting maxed mains.

 

I wouldn't personally rent out any of my maxed mains as its not worth the risk of it being banned. You figure at 1m/hr, that would take like 15 days of straight renting to pay for the maxed main upright and that's at 24/7.

 

Yeah that's true, you would just have to make sure to keep on the up and up with who you rent to.

 

Just make sure you're careful about who you're lending it out to, and that you have a clear ToS they have to follow. If you want to lend to someone who seems a bit shady, just ask for a deposit as well as payment upfront in case they get it banned.

 

I used to offer maxed rentals so I have a little perspective on this. I was able to make ~400M gold in one month when whole sale prices were around $0.95 per M.

There's certainly a risk involved with renting out an account. I had one person use my account to spam a phishing scam at the GE. I was able to catch it after ~5 minutes or so, because I tried to monitor my accounts to avoid situations like that. No ban or mute but was a close call.

That's not fair to assume. Prices range from about 2-4m/h on rentals.

That's only 200(100 if 4m/h) hours of renting over a month, which is entirely plausible.

 

I rented my accounts for almost 2 years. Bans were quite frequent and I would never recommend anyone to rent unless you have lots of money to blow.

How is the whole renting business profitable if ban rate is high? (or is it?) A maxed main is worth around $250 and if you're renting out for $2-3 per hour then it's around 100 hours to break-even. How's the rate of not getting ban under 100 hours? It seems highly risky for me.

I'm curious since I find business fascinating, I'm not trying to challenge anyone.

 

Most people don't make any money so they recover accounts when people are staking on them for quick $$$

You can easily cover 100 hours, especially if you have a couple of regulars it will be the same IP's using over and over not completely random ones and that would also lower the chance of ban
