Hey,
I was curious what the experience is like, renting out maxed mains.

What could you do to keep the account safe? I mean some people could just try and get you banned by RWT/saying 'selling account' in a highly populated place etc (you can imagine how people might troll sometime), it would be a waste of a perfectly fine account. You probably can watch the people ingame but yeah, this surely has risk involved when renting out mains.

Any tips on how to keep the renter safe, and past experiences regarting bans?
Thanks@!

You would think right? Someone goes down like 300m, says fuck it and starts trolling, that shit is so risky for a maxed account..

I've never understood why you'd allow risk like that either. The only thing I've thought of is if they're following through team viewer or something so they can watch every action.

I think you guys are underestimating people a little bit. Yeah there's a risk of people doing that, but in general if you're careful that won't happen that much.

Watching them as an extra precaution would also be helpful.

Trollest thing someone has done to my account was putting him between 2 webs in deep wildy without a knife in the inv, but it was kinda my fault I went afk during the rental :p

Did you follow them on another account or team viewer them or?

Jagex will (most the time) remove any offences if the account is banned/muted when someone with a different mac address and different IP.

edit; before anyone asks, they occasionally do the appeal if your account was banned while hacked thing on reddit, and you can tell with jagex's laziness (but as well as the overwhelming amount of fake appeals) they will do a quick skim to see original IP and match it with the one while banned, or something like that

That's not true actually, I'm going a way back (1-2 years ago) my main "Gracious" got hacked, there was a shitload of money on it & the hackers sold it off my account, my main got banned for RWT Major (whilst at that time, I was just hoarding gold, never RWT'd.) After countless of appeals they haven't done anything, didn't even bother replying to me.

On point though; I'd like to get some insights of the companies that rent maxed mains.

I had a maxed main rental service for a few months a while back and had basically zero problems when renting out (only had one "soft" lock on the account that just had me recover via email). Not sure if this was due to the account being 10+ years old and being under less scrutiny, but I haven't heard a too lot about people's rental accounts being banned. There's still a few precautions you could/should take:

1) Have an alt account at the duel arena just to make sure that they aren't scamming/flaming/advertising.
2) Take a deposit for the tentacle whip if the renter doesn't have a lot of trust. Also put a bank pin on the account if you have any untradeables you want to protect and transfer all of your wealth off beforehand.
3) Check the charges on the whip before handing it off, you should leave it with ~300/hr just to be safe.
4) A majority of the people who will want to rent will either not have a sythe account or are ban evading on their current account (something I didn't realize until looking back at my thread after). It's up to you if you want to rent to them, but I never had a problem with anybody dropping my whip or refusing to log off.

Im renting out a maxed main atm and Im not 100% sure how you boot them off the acc if they break rules/t.o.s I thought you would just recover it.

I am not asking how to boot someone off an account, like yes, it will be necessary would anyone not log off after their time has stopped but other than that, no.

I'm more looking for answers & experiences with the actual safety of the account and not get it banned.

Edit; thanks to everyone who has answered so far!

Take video of everything! I rented out my max main for a month or so and ran into 2 problems. 1 guy dropped my whip and moved the account to g.e (guessing he rwt'd) 2. Another guy turned private off and i couldnt find him in the duel arena for over 10 minutes. I kicked him off and kept the deposit. I only took screen shots of messaging him on skype asking where he was. So i couldnt prove he left the duel arena and was made to refund his 2m deposit.

People are pieces of shit! Make sure you always record and collect deposits. The vast majority are ban vaders or dont have sythe accounts. Make sure all rules are clearly stated and you watch hitbox and twitch for streamers.

I see. The thing is tho, it would be extremly annoying having to 24/7 monitor it when you're renting out. Let's say you afk for 5 minutes and in those 5 minutes people go in a jmods fc and say something like 'selling my account' and make it look legit a mod might end up banning it, or indeed if the person RWT's off the account, that may cause a ban aswell. I wouldn't really care if I had to pay 2M for the whip again, it's just the actual account I'm afraid of.

I agree, it's not very realistic or worthwhile to constantly monitor the account. I did it in the beginning because I had the same concerns as you, but stopped after a while when I realized everybody was just following the rules and staking normally. As far as the possibility of someone RWTing, you could just monitor them starting a few minutes before their time is up as that's when they'll be most likely to do that. For something like going into a jmods fc, there's not really much you can do about that.

If you're still worried, you could monitor each renter occasionally (every 5-10 minutes or so) until you've made enough to break even with the worth of the account and relax it from there, or you could just sell the maxed account straight off. Like most people have said, you shouldn't run into many problems (if any) if you do decide to rent out the account.

I used to also have these concerns regarding my account when I was renting it out at the beginning, however, the people renting usually don't do anything stupid and eventually I just stopped monitoring them.

With a price of ~3m/hr + deposit, it pretty much eliminates all of the stupid people as they'll think its too expensive to try and pull something and u'll have little to no problems with the account

The way I see it, it's not worth the risk. A max main is worth so much timewise (especially that NMZ is gone now) and it's just now worth it to risk it getting banned for a couple mils.

I think I had the biggest renting service at one point - it's a risky but rewarding.

One issue is that if someone wants to get your account banned, all they have to do is stream commission free staking and then report the stream. Lost 3-4 accounts to people streaming on it, and it's hard to moderate unless you're focusing all your attention on the rental (this issue might not be as prevalent since the idea of commission staking is long gone in 07). That being said, if you are training up farms of them via nmz, such that you have 10-20 accounts, in the end it's going to profit unless someone hates you and is purposely trying to get you banned.
