Remove the "No vouch copies" rule in guide selling section

Hello everyone,

I recently got infracted for apparently spamming and asking to review a guide? This rule has never been followed really and is (in my opinion) a dumb rule. A few reasons for why I think it's better to allow it can be seen below.

THIS INLCUDES RULE #3 and #6

1. It helps get more sales going, no one's gonna really purchase a guide if there are no reviews.
2. Done on almost every other forum
3. You may argue that they can contact a mod or whatever, but it may be hard to get a hold of them/they might have better things to do

That rule is literally ancient and is clearly not updated to how the guide section works(people getting vouch copies for reviews).

I support abolishing it, and reversal of ur infraction.

 

The rules have been followed whenever somebody reports somebody whom is rule breaking.

I specifically have issues with people spamming every thread with "I'll review it for free for you" which is what will happen if we remove the rule.

And how many people actually report lol? Literally 0 because no one cares about this rule.

For spamming, people do that anyways and like I said, barely anyone reports it.

 

Support removal of this issue and revision of rule #6. Good suggestion, Sneaky fish.

 

I agree with you and I support this.

Heres why:

I do think it may be hard to get in contact with a mod to review such guides as some of them are long; they have other things to do.

I personally wouldn't get a guide just to review it for others and risk losing money if its a crap guide

I DO HOWEVER believe not everyone should be able to offer "free reviews." Should be a well trusted, vouched member of sythe.

Definitely support. I got an infraction for the same thing a few days ago even though the guy was literally asking for someone to review the guide in his topic. If it's not allowed to offer to review a guide then have some staff ready to review them instead of throwing around pointless infractions.

I think in the interest of "free market" the rule should be removed

 

If anything, I think a better update would be adding a clause for all guides in the section requiring verification by a staff member before selling.

Then, "vouch copies" would be non-existent and the section would be more inviting (safer, better quality, etc.).

 

Verification by staff members violates free market.

Market is allowed to have poor quality guides if people want it to, part of the market.

You see people selling high quality products then cheap knock offs of products in the same market, its what keeps a market going.

 

Support, makes the guide market a lot more secure.

 

One of my points though is that staff may be hard to reach, not want to do it, or have better things to do. Maybe a dedicated verifying person? Idk but I just want it to be available to anyone rn which supports the free market idea.

 

So do it........ Exert your dominance over these other foolish staff

 

Why not just pm the user asking for a free copy instead of posting on their thread? I believe this would invite more free copy requests which is why the rule most likely exists.

 

Look at #3 though. According to the rules you can't ask anyways, regardless of whether it's PM or not.
