Religion.

Better question would be, what if one has never even heard of the Christian God? Where do THEY go?

Interestingly, every religion claims to be the "correct" version of the truth. None of them really try to prove it though.

That's not true, what do you think the bible is for Christians, or the Qur'an for Muslims? It's the book basically explaining the religion or "proving" the religion... I mean, take Jesus for example, he was an actual person, and there is solid proof for that. The bible explains how he was the Mosiah, with all the amazing things he did. Muslims just believe he was a prophet. Whether you believe he was the Mosiah or not is purely opinion. But don't try and act like religions are just random things people pulled out of their ass. Of course there is some opinions to it, but there is going to be opinions with everything.

Evidence supporting the existence of a man called Jesus, and evidence of religious claims, miracles and dogma are two separate things. Jesus may have existed, but I have no better reason to believe he was a miraculous prophet than I do to believe he merely had schizophrenia. I'm not actually making the assertion that religions are random things extracted from the rectum, but frankly, belief systems provide little evidence to suggest they're anything more. If someone feels threatened by critique of their beliefs, I'd dare to say it isn't the criticisms that are the problem.

Further, Islam and Christianity are both Abrahamic religions. Back to my original point, what of Hindus? Buddhists? Taoists? Tribal belief systems? All mainstream religions make the claim of being correct, and the claim that other beliefs are false. All mainstream religions have doctrine and dogma. What makes, for example, the Roman Pantheon any more or less believable than Christianity, Islam, or Judaism?

And what makes Atheism more believable? I mean there are theories on how the universe was created, but it's only theories. I'm not an extremely religious Christian, but I'm sure there is more proof/facts on jesus in the bible then theories on how the universe was created.

Atheism isn't a belief. It is a lack of belief, and therefore the default stance, until evidence is provided to the contrary. Newborns are born atheist. If they were not indoctrinated, they would remain that way given they'd be given no particular reason to believe in God. It's not that they assert a specific belief, just that they lack any belief. Atheism is not "more believable", it is simply the most rational stance in the absence of evidence.

Atheism also has absolutely nothing to do with how the universe was created. The only criteria to be an atheist is the lack of belief in a deity. Most rational atheists are actually agnostic atheists; meaning they admit that there may be the possibility of a deity existing, they just cannot believe it with the current lack of evidence to suggest so.

Dont believe in those things, just like ghosts, cant prove they exist so they most likely dont.

I wouldn't say that - it's quite possible that they DO exist. The issue is, we have no real reason to believe they do, which makes disbelief the most rational stance. There's no grounds for saying "most likely" given that the universe is for all intents and purposes, infinite.

Im sorry, I just cant believe in story book nonsense, if any "miracle" or "supernatural" event happens there is always a logical explanation

I don't personally believe in god but I think the belief itself help a lot of people as chruches do a lot for the in need. Some sins are a bit over the top since I probably sin everyday lol but it's a good reason for people who believe in god not to do bad things.

I think we both agree on that.

By that logic megachurches would look more like charities than multimillion dollar businesses. Churches may bring a group of people together who can do some small things for people in need, but they also foster an "us-vs-them" mentality which pits them against those who don't share their beliefs.

I would pose the conjecture that, that is the reason why the vast majority of blood has been shed needlessly in this world.

Religion is very simply a set of beliefs that didn't phase itself out with all of the other disproven theories because it is, it itself, an unfalsifiable hypothesis. If anyone actually puts forth the effort to think about the logistics of their religion and put aside their bias from family etc. they will come to the simple conclusion that there is no actual reason to believe in any humanly religion.

lol where did you here this? the quran says the rich are important.

Have you ever read the Quran? I tried to give it a read but couldn't get past the do's and don'ts of Islam.

I stick strongly to my belief. (:

Something that your family encourages you to believe on or just something you get used to. Not a real believer of god but still thinking that there's something out there, but of course there's no GOD for me. But I could of say that i am 60% an atheist and 40% a believer of something big.
