Regarding giveaways

Support, giveaways are too easy to fake.

 

Can this be made a rule already?!?!?

 

im in favor. if you want to give money to people you like, just do it without the whole shell of a giveaway. otherwise, do it randomly

Support. Dice roll would make it fair and ensure nobody cheated the outcome.

 

if you know someone is a vader you should report them and get them banned. it's not a proper giveaway if you hand-pick the winner.

 

I think he means he wants the ability to re-roll the giveaway if the person is a suspected/banned evader and wins or something I think(idk its hard to understand him).

Why are you referring to someone in specific? This ruling would affect anyone who were to host a giveaway under the proposed guidelines of randomization detailed in my original post.

This ruling does 2 things:

1. Presents winner from a trusted source
2. Eliminates any type of fraud

I don't get why anyone, even hosts, would want to outsource how winners are chosen when it can easily be done here and for the reasons I gave.

 

Support. This will ensure randomness. I do think the donor lounge is not the right place for legit dicing/giveaways. There should be a separate section in the donor lounge or a donor-only subsection in the sandbox for this purpose. This rule should then apply to those sections only.

 

I'm fine with people giving away money and being biased whom they give it to, just not if OP states the winner will be "completely random."

 

Couldn't we have an mm hold the gp and then have them roll the dice through sythe? I don't think it will discourage legit give-aways as why would they have a problem with that?

 

Restricting it that much isn't an option. That's like saying everyone who wants to dice has to use a middleman.

 

At this point, these giveaways are all troll attempts. Just ban them from every section besides the Sandbox, that way there is no confusion on the rules.

Exceptions can be made, such as the drawings that SM has been holding in the LoL section. Or he could just officially state the giveaway in the sandbox and then create a link in the League section that directs users to the sandbox for the official rules.

 

Don't see how it is. People tend to have restrictions such as no 2k16 members no 5 donors. A giveaway tends to happen after 1k posts or like 2 weeks worth of posts, don't see how this is restricting give-aways, they aren't as common as dicing. It's simply eradication trolls while making people certain they will get the reward if they win.

 

I think this is a amazing idea even though i don't go on this forum much anymore, i see on all other forum's no one has requested or proposed this idea. I am fully in favour of implementing this as it would make it impossible to fake or cheat a giveaway!

Support! It makes perfect sense to implement a more fair and secure giveaway system. Anything to promote legitimacy in the community is okay in my books.
