Recieved 2 Points for Multiple Posting?!

I've read the site rules and I dont see where it says I CANNOT post twice in a row in my own buying mills thread in order to bump it up.

I'm not flooding if you look at the time difference between the posts.

Also I've seen many others do the same.

Could I please get some clarification on this?

If there is such a rule I'm sorry that I wasn't aware of it and it wont happen again in future...though I dont see how else I could bump my thread up from page 2...

Last thing is I reported Viet's post in my thread for telling people not to trade with me...hes offered NO REASON OR PROOF WHATSOEVER.
Yet the market MOD Fouisgras takes NO ACTION on his post but instead goes and gives me an infarction.

I've also brought another thread that has a FAKE CSEZ in a TEXT LOG MSN convo.

Please could someone address that, I don't want a bad reputation smeared across me just cause some kids decide that they want to make up accusations about legit Sythers for their own amusement or whatnot.

- Bumping: posting just to get a topic at the top of a forum, usually with just the word “bump”

I thought it was pretty self explanitory. And as you did it four times, quad posting is a two pointer.

Also, Vietballer was given an infraction. You cannot see when others are given one, so don't go whining about things you are just so ignorant to and have no knowledge no of.

You see, this is how a forum works. A thread is only bumped up when someone makes a post in it. If nobody posts in a thread, that is because nobody is interested in it, therefore the interesting or useful threads stay at the top, while the boring or unneeded threads fall away.

 

It also says its only a warning for newcomes who did not know.

I did not get a warning.

And with all due respect what you said about useful threads staying on top is not true in this case.
In other forums perhaps, in a market forum there are so many new threads created that my thread would be pushed to page 2.

What am I supposed to do apart from bump it so that sythers can see it?
Also, you did not address the fact that MANY other sythers bump their topics in a row and yet they are not given infractions.

I'm not here to whine, I'm here to gain a better understanding of how everything works, however that said it seems to be that the moderating isn't very consistent on here.

Its not the bumping that is the problem in my eyes, its the 4+ posting in a row, there is no need. As Atomic said, the useless threads go to the bottom for a reason, if everyone did what you did the market would be a huge mess.

 

Firstly I honestly wasn't aware what I was doing was against the rules, as many more established members were doing the same thing.
I'm not saying that excuses me for breaking the rules.

Many leechers create new threads and even the useful threads are bound to get pushed down.

Its easier for the more established members because people are constantly posting on their threads.

I wouldn't have had to quadruple post if some of the sellers had posted a vouch or thank you after i had bought the gold off them.

If you look at the time between each post, you'll see that I was merely bumping the thread from page 2/3 of the forum back to page 1.
Come on...how many people look at page 2/3 of the forums?

Most people just check page 1.
I'm only trying to buy gold here and i'm not being unreasonable in how I post.

I think you should allow bumps in buying and selling threads every half hour - 1 hour.

I don't see why that would be unreasonable.
In fact I think its a better solution than moderators giving infractions to some Users for multiple posting and letting others get away with it.

 

You do not know whether or not people are getting away with it. Lets say there are 120 active threads in the Gold Sales forum per hour. Each thread is bumped twice during that time. That is 240 posts. That would mean that there would be a post every 15 seconds. That would mean that every 5 minutes a thread would go down a page. This doesn't include posts that are not bumps. Besides that, bumps are just plain annoying. You were infracted for breaking the rules, live with it.

With all due respect, what exactly do you expect us to do?

We arent allowed to make multiple threads, we arent allowed to post twice in a row despite however many hours being between those posts.
Seems completely absurd to be honest.

I can live with the fact I was given an infraction for multi posting despite the fact NO warning was given.

Just explain to me how you expect us buyers to get GP for prices that we want when you won't let us keep our threads alive.

 

You wait a week, if no one replies you can make a new thread. Depending on what forum it is of course, in some after a week it may be on the front page still.

You recieve a warning for double posting (normally) and sometimes tripple posting depending on why it happens. Anything over that is 1-2 infractions.

 

Ok then...would it be a good idea to put that in the rules so that future newcomers won't fall into the same trap?
