Reasons To Quit RuneScape

runescape for me is a fun way to pass time and i propollly was about 90 lbs when i started playing but now im 130 its from growing

I've sunk 4 years of membership money in to this game. 2.5 of which were paying for 2 memberships.

I'm getting a bit bored of RS, though, thus why I am here. I am now improving my programming skills and making RS scripts via SCAR. I plan to sell the scripts, and the goodies I get from them, for RL cash.

RS can be very addicting, but everything gets old. That's a pretty solid fact.

1. Gaining weight isn't Runescapes' problem. That is like blaming McDonalds for making you fat, it is your own decision.

2. I have made a lot of friends through Runescape, even people who lived within miles of me that I would never have met otherwise. Again, it isn't Runescapes' fault that you make bad personal choices.

3. Jagex is a COMPANY, these COMPANIES make a buisness by making MONEY. Yet again, Jagex makes a game that people want to play in order to make money. If they made a game no one wanted to play, they wouldn't be much of a company.

Lastly, it is a game. People play it to have fun and make friends (sounds gay, I know), and if you don't like it, you cannot blame the game. Sure some people are addicted, but you can't just assume everyone is ruining their lives with this game. It is fine if you quit, but it is just a game, give it a break.

Yeah I understand that, I am just giving people second thoughts of why they shouldn't play. If I was Jagex, I would set up guides and things of what I just said and not to get addicted.

You can't say theres not a problem when actually a good percentage of the people that play are way over-aged to be spending their life playing... I would say anyone over 25 shouldn't play, thats just, erg..

good reasons and all but doesnt it keep ppl from doing bad stuff like drinking and smoking and shooting up and even breaking the law? not only that...MOST of us have actuall lives like hockey and basketball and stuff...so dont thkn that its ALL that bad...

I quit, came back and discovered god wars and got into barrows, haven't looked back since and im loving the new updates. Rs has killed my grades, friendships and family relationships but honestly i dont give a fuck.

my opinion is that you should read jagex's safety page on the knowledge base.
They tell you that you need to take a break every half hour ( 20 mins)

What I did was...Fail at school and my mum took me off Runescape and banned me from the computer. I ace at basketball, soccer and tennis. I skateboard and can play guitar and drums. Recently, my friend reintroduced me to Runescape and nothing has happened to worsen my life.

I play 10 hours a week, tops.

this guy is correct about everything (except the jagex money-making, theyre a business duh), but i only go on one pure for one hour each day, and sometimes i dont go at all, im the fastest runner in the boys freshman 200m dash, and i have a life. my grades are bad, that dont have anything to do with the game. to obtain a life, u need to limit runescape defintely, but when people say "its ur opinion", its only because they cant seem to follow any limitations and in their "opinion" runescape IS thier life. im sorry, but its true.

Yeah, fucking waste's your time. Gave all my account's away. People who think there "cool" because there a high level are talking shit. The higher level you are, the more of your life you've wasted. It's up to other's to make the decision but in my eye's, it's a complete waste of time.

True, I do very much like these reason but, who the hell plays now and days?

Well there's about 7M active free account and over 1M members (even after the wilderness update) my sources are the Jagex interviews at E3 oh and there's currently 185K people playing.

Also if you played WoW or any game for that matter you'd have the same problem(s) it's not just Runescape you tool.

my cousin plays rs so that keeps us close

Yeah, RuneScape does ruin lives. So does every other MMO. That's what they were built for. They make it addictive so people get sucked into it, never to get off. But in the end. It is your choice to play.
