[READ BEFORE REQUESTING A PARDON] Request a Pardon Template

    About pardons

This forum is for users, banned or unbanned, to appeal for a pardon. If you're looking for information regarding DNT or how to apply for it, go to: Request a DNT
    • If you're banned, you're admitting to an offence and requesting forgiveness from the staff to be unbanned and return.
    • If you're unbanned, you're turning yourself in for an offence the staff are not yet aware of.
If you do not think your ban was warranted, however, you're in the wrong place. Go to: Dispute a Ban or TWC

    High pardon template
    • Thread MUST be titled "[Your username] requesting a pardon for [ban reason]"
    Pardon procedures

You can only pardon once every 6 (or 3, if you have been given a DNT and have paid back all your debts) months starting from the date your pardon was denied.

Review: You post a pardon request. Your pardon will be vetted by a staff member to ensure all victims have been repaid and no pertinent information has been left out. Once finished, a staff member will comment review has been completed and the pardon is ready for voting.
Voting: Pardons passing review will be copied to the staff lounge (consisting of all staff members) for voting. Voting will last for 1 week, requiring a minimum of 9 votes and a 60% majority to pass or fail.
If 9 votes are not placed or exactly 9 votes have been placed without a 60% majority (4-5 or 5-4), the poll will be extended for 1 week and all remaining staff members will be asked to vote.

After 1 week has passed, a decision should be made on your pardon. If a decision has not been posted here, you can ask any staff member for the current status of your pardon.

    Requirements
    • Use the template (or similar) provided above. Please post your pardon from your home IP, not from a proxy or VPN.
    • Be able to demonstrate reform of character and legitimate regret for your offence(s).
    • Be able to demonstrate good will toward the site without hostility, and be willing to accept the verdict of this pardon process without complaint.
    • Repay all victims and provide evidence of this. You need to reach out to your victim in an attempt to contact them directly for repayment. If there is no response the funds will be held in the community repayment wallet where they will be able to collect it at any further date.
    • Pardons may instantly be denied for 6 months in situations where pertinent information is purposefully left out.
Pardons not meeting these requirements or following the template will be locked and have to be resubmitted.

For all pardon requests posted after October 8, 2012:

There no longer exists any "conditional support" for pardons (ie. "support, but with a TwC / DNT / etc."). Staff supporting a pardon request must be fully confident that if the user returns, they are not going to be a problem for the community and truly deserve full reinstatement.

For all pardon requests posted after December 11th, 2016:

Pardons no longer undergo a two-stage system, where initial support or no support is publicly posted. All pardons are now one-stage, meaning a review process will be performed and then copied to the staff lounge for all staff members to vote on.
