So if names are only available to members, would name checkers still work?

What if they change the name changing system? And the way you can check name availability?

I honestly think they'll make it harder to check for available names to discourage people from checking names non stop and thus trying to stop name hoarders?

Lol, when you make an account you are able to chose a name. It's not only available to members only...?

 

Mods have already said that they can't be taken on a new account.
As in on the create an account screen they won't be available.

I can't really see that happening to be honest. The names are being released next week and I don't think they'd push out such a big revamp with just 4 days to go. You never know though, you could be right.

1) Someone here mentioned names turning into numbers. I've only been seeing "add friend unknown player"

2) Did they start with 0-9? or will that come later?

By numbers they mean force changed to [#349FJDFG93]

Anything not switched to that won't be released.

I've been seeing HUGE amount of names changed into "Unknown friend - unable to add" and some of these recently, but none [12052150] I am adding random A-C names now and many come up as they will be released but not the [#2104156] but iv'e seen on a FL some names turned to that but when you add names they only show up as "unable to add" but thanks folt, you know it all!

EDIT: So yes guys, I logged on one of my names to find it having been cleared up, but not released fully... no notification so i lost it, and I can't even change back on the original account! Shame jagex doesn't let people get their names back without FIGHTING for it :/

 

Yea same happened to me, i have like several accounts linked to my main email, 3 names got removed and I didn't receive any notification, at all. Ah well ..

And I think they'll do 0-9 at the very end.

By the way 2332, you won't see names turn into #236552 when you've just added them because that's just not possible as they don't hold the name anymore you tried to add. The only way you'll get #565312 names in your friendlist is when you've added them before their name got removed.

 

Thank you for this information, I couldn't be bothered checking to see if that method was illegitimate, or legitimate.

 

A good way to keep track of which name is which is by right clicking the name in your fl/ignore and adding notes in RS3, because the note stays even after it's turned to [#GHT88RJFN0]

 

I've always wanted a "rare" display name. Although, big name snipers just take them all.
