The drops are based off a points system yes ? so even if you were so solo it i assume you would have very little points therefore prob a shitty drop ?

yes but we are unsure if groupsize also matters in a drop, it'd be unfair for a 1 man raid with 26K points to have a lesser chance of getting a drop individually then a 3 man raid with 26K point ea imo

Thats a very valid point. By far the only vid i've seen where a bloke tries to solo is
The drop was pretty shit and it looked like he barely made it.

Hopefully in a couple of weeks someone is able to break down raids for us. Efficiency and what not.

They seem very cool so far. I saw B0aty complete a raid in 50 minutes which seemed pretty damn fast.

Honestly curious on how you can be impressed when it's 07's version of Dunge...

Dungeoneering is garbage compared to Raids. Raids are exactly what Raids in traditional MMO's are and should be - a challenge that has a small chance in rewarding you with enough loot to last you a long time.

Dungeoneering was monotonous, long, boring, and the worst part of all..a "skill". Raids is optional content more geared toward mid and end game. The only real good thing Dungeoneering ever provided were the Charming Imp, Chaotics, and Frost Dragons.

Yeah it's similar to Dungeoneering, but not really.

Ah alright. I can agree with you on that it is more like a traditional MMO, but RS was never a traditional MMO to begin with really. Either way, to each their own, as I personally thought Dungeoneering was hands down by far the best skill pre eoc. And one thing that makes no sense is that you say Dungeoneering was monotonous, long, and boring. Raids take anywhere from what 40 minutes to 2 hours long, just like when Dunge first came out, so both are long really. I'm sure Raids will become faster and faster just like Dunge did. Isn't raids the same like 10 rooms every time, with the same bosses every time, doing the same thing every time? Sounds monotonous to me :p. Now the boring one is just opinion based and as a person who has never done a raid, I can't say that I have an opinion on it. Other than watching videos and saying that it looks fun for a bit but would probably get boring quick for me personally. If you even decide to read this well thanks for actually reading. Also I'm not trying to start shit or get a "Rs3 vs 07" war going, I'm just curious about what other people think. Thanks for not being a dick head with your response :D

I'm actually quite a big fan of RS3 as well. I think the game itself is better than it was Pre-EoC but I liked the Pre-EoC aesthetic more than RS3 aesthetic. RS3 feels so disneyscape with the wings, glowing eyes, cosmetics, bunch of weird ass shit in the game nowadays lol. It doesn't really have an identity to me anymore. That said, I actually prefer the new combat system despite doing 120 slayer through legacy mode (Solely because it kind of recreates that lost 2012 aesthetic I was talking about).

You're definitely right though, it's all up to the opinion of the person. You're not the only one that thinks it's a Dungeoneering rip-off or that dungeoneering is way better. I also agree with the traditional MMO stuff, the best part about Runescape is that it was so unique and its own little niche. Unfortunately I feel like Runescape 3 fell more victim than OSRS has in trying to be something its not. However I don't agree that something was EoC, I think EoC was good for the game. It was just implemented horribly and broken on release.

I should have prefaced by saying I do not hate Dungeoneering, I just like Raids more for the aspect that it is optional content and gives you something to do end-game. Dungeoneering felt like a chore, especially with it going all the way up to level 120. I enjoy dungeoneering but I enjoy Raids a lot more.

I liken 2007 Raids more to like a Super Saiyan version of Fight Caves. A lot of people have debated whether or not Old School's archaic combat system can handle something like Raids, but I feel like they've done a good job. Yes, there are a lot of elements ripped from Dungeoneering which is kind of ironic given OSRS players toxicity toward the core game.

However, the thing I like most about raids is the chance for amazing loot. You could kind of get this through DG by unlocking Frost Dragons which were best money in the game for so long. Honestly though I don't blame you at all for being preferential toward DG, and I will concede that when the novelty wears off Raids could become very boring to me as well. However, I see a lot of potential for Raids further down the line. New rooms, new bosses, new loot. It could be a big end game content piece if the OSRS team plays it right, that's why I gave them credit.

(I'm actually maxed on RS3 post invention so I really enjoy RS3 still as well)

I can agree, I was one of the people who despised EoC and never gave it a chance. In around 2015 is when I gave Rs3 a try again and enjoyed it a lot more. I agree 100% that EoC wasn't the thing that ruined the game, it helped bring a lot of awesome things to the game. Which made RS in a whole a lot more enjoyable for me personally. As for the cosmetics I kind of like that part. Gave people more creativity with their characters and as a person who enjoys fashionscape, it appealed to me once they started adding higher quality stuff :p.

Raids not being a skill like Dunge is a huge bonus in a lot of ways, I agree 100% with that as well. After reading your last paragraph, I can agree with and understand why you gave them credit now. What they made is incredible and there is a whole lot of potential. As someone who doesn't really play RS at all anymore, I'm still really curious to see what they can bring to the table in Raids.

After reading everything and seeing that you like both games and seeing your reasons I can agree with you. Even though there are aspects from dunge, they still did an amazing job and it has a ton of potential. I wish conversations could go like this when talking about Rs3 and 07 XD.

Would certainly make both games better if the discourse wasn't always so toxic. The funniest part being after one party bashes the other they ask for something the other game has lmao.

I couldn't have said it any better, maybe one day there will be harmony between the two games.

I'm a bit disappointed with Raids. Especially being as I mostly play for PVP & have Lower combat builds.
However; I enjoy the new items! So that's great!
I'd love for them to come out with a NEW skill, maybe something OSRS specific that never was or will be released to RS3

No man I haven't, but I did look at b0atys stream and the items are extremely expensive so I am thinking about trying it.

Wouldn't mind a buff but that's what traditional MMO raids usually encapsulate, correct? Shit tier loot with the very small chance of getting amazing loot.
