Now exactly why did dorianking get banned? Is it because of him selling pins from pinlines? Well if that's the case, then why are other pin selling threads still open?

Almost every pin seller on Sythe buys pins that are obtained from pinlines, and sells them here on Sythe. Some people, even own pinlines on here and even the pins they obtain from them.

I'm going to choose Skele_Master as an example. I'm almost 99% sure that he obtains his pins from a pinline. There's no other way to get free or cheap pins for less than what they are on the Runescape website.

Pin selling is a profit for a lot of Sythe users, and I don't see why dorianking was banned for this. From my knowledge, all he does his buy pins in bulk for cheap, and resell them.

So exactly how is this a big deal? Shouldn't dorianking be unbanned?

We don't allow the sale of ********s on this site; so, I assumed those who used them would have to buy them elsewhere.

Dorian was banned for being among the users who bought ********s at another site.

I'm mainly talking about the sale of pins. Most sellers on Sythe here are actually resellers and buy their pins from bulk sellers. Those bulk sellers get them from pinlines.

I know that you can't sell pinlines here, but all dorian told me that, he just buys and resells pins.

Never mind, I saw dorianking's post on another forum wanting to buy a pinline.

There's just too much confusing going around as to whether or not us members should continue to sell pins.

I have not yet banned anyone for simply merchanting pinline pins; the staff are discussing whether they will be allowed and the appropriate measures if not. I'm really not looking to ban the entire pin market, but ******** use has gotten out of hand precisely because we've been so lenient with it.

It's just like the botnet rule. If you can prove they have one(pinline in this case), then they can be banned. If you just think they have one there's not much you can do. Obviously it was proven he sells/buys pinlines/pins. While it's quite obvious that basically everyone on Sythe does sell pinline pins, you're never 100% sure, so you can't just go shutting down pin shops / banning members without solid proof that they do in fact use a ********.

So attempting to buy a pinline from a different forum (but not actually buying it) can result in a ban at Sythe?

So owning a botnet but only attempting to DDoS people at rsbot.org can result in a ban at Sythe?

    Yeah, it can.

    That's not what he means.

If we're talking about botnets he's talking about attempting to buy the botnet but theres no proof of him buying it.

Disallowing pinlines to be bought/sold/traded on sythe is one thing. Disallowing pins obtained from pinlines is another.

It's obvious to everybody that major pin sellers on sythe are either buying pins in bulk from someone or using a pinline to get their pins. Most bulk sellers I know sell pins they obtained from pinlines.

If you disallow the selling/buying/trading of pins obtained from pinlines, you will effectively destroy the runescape membership black market.

This is the best way to put it.

Buying/Selling Pinlines SHOULD NOT BE ALLOWED on this site.

You should still be able to merchant pin-line pins though.

    Why?

It's basically the same thing. A pinline has no other use except to get the pins that you want to sell. The membership market wouldn't be dead(there's people who sell UGCs and stuff), it'd just decrease activity.

    Thanks.

I also have another thing : How are you going to distinguish "legit" pins vs. "pinline" pins?

Hmm, it'd also raise membership prices by a butt-load and would ruin some pin-sellers incomes.

Just for your information, I do not use ********s.

A ******** is actually just a normal line which you can call anybody with. However, they are not meant to be accessed by anyone other than Telstra staff and that's why the trade, talk and general use of ********s is not allowed on Sythe.

You can't, but it's safe to assume that AUS PbP is from a pinline.

    Well that sucks.

Yeah well, everybody makes mistakes. I didn't know.:(

If you want to go into what's supposed to and not supposed to be done, pin sales as a whole should be ended. You're technically not supposed to resell pins that belong to Jagex.

Also, why isn't this clear on the website rules? Why are we suddenly cracking down on it? I've seen a bunch of ******** sellers, buyers, and users. Should I start reporting them all?

I can't think of any other 'method' you could use to legally obtain pins. When you buy a bunch of pins, someone eventually has to pay for it. I know your method is a secret, but could you at least somehow explain how it legally works out?

You HAVE Bought pins from someone with Pinlines. Amanda. I have proof if you want too see.

OT: Sin666 Doesn't want us too debate about the topic of whether Pinline Pins are legal, it is not up for debate.

http://sythe.org/showthread.php?t=790449 (Look at Sins 2nd Post)

In the case of DorianKing, he shouldn't have been banned. Not until the Staff of Sythe get it out there COMPLETELY that getting pinlines on other sites, Or using Pinlines on this site is unacceptable.

We haven't finalized the rules on reselling pins, however, we make it clear that ********s are not allowed at all. Dorian was apparently banned for buying ********s on another forum.
