Question and rant about donation holders

Why is that when a new comer like me, wants to donate like $5 paypal, gets denied the right to that. Honestly, if you're going to become a paypal holder and someone wants to donate to the site, i don't know why the hell you would even deny that, you act like everyone new is a thirsty mofo that is gonna call up paypal and complain about $5. I hope you realize that you were once in a same situation as a new comer. It's frustrating to see holders deny you..........................
I know that they can scam quit and shit, but honestly, gotta give everyone a chance once in a while.

 

There's an overwhelming ban rate for newer users (a large portion are ban evaders returning to scam.) You can believe that they are going to charge back whatever they can once they're banned, donations are no exception.

Are there good, genuine new users that just want to donate $5? Sure. Is it worth the time and risk given the probability that a user will be banned and request a charge back on that payment? Nope. Shell out the extra couple of dollars to donate via a safe method if it bothers you so much.

This won't change.

 

Why not just buy RSGP and donate the 5.00 that way? What's the big deal no reason to get so upset about it.

 

There are sometimes greater costs than the $5 when dealing with a dispute/chargeback. If someone pays $5 through paypal with a credit card and then they contact their provider and ask to file a chargeback, paypal has been known to pass on a $30+ fee to the person who accepted the payment. Lorenzo proposed a great solution though for your problem

I have to admit on some donations I am hesitant to accept PayPal from a user. If it's a huge issue for you contact a rsgp seller and donate that way or learn bitcoin.

Being a bond holder should not mean that we have to give every newcomer whatever donation amount they would like. Chargebacks are also one of the reasons we charge an extra % on all of our paypal donations.

 

You don't have a right to donate. You don't have the right to do anything here. You may be allowed to do so, but there aren't any rights. Keep that in mind.

 

I guess you should stay on the forum for a while longer then think about donating, I don't see the point in donating as soon as you join.

 

Legit, the amount of banned users has to be over 90%. You expect us to make a dime to the dollar accepting donations for you?

 

Honestly though bro just on the chance that you're going to be a legit member. Go ahead and contact me and I will go ahead and apply the donation to you if it's that big of a deal. I mean it is only 5.00. If you don't want to go that route like I said you could easily buy RSGP and donate it that way through one of Rsgp bond holders. I would even be willing to sell you the gold. You can't allow yourself to get discouraged there are a lot of scammers around and precautions have to be taken.

If you can use nonrefundable sources like btc, 07 and ikov, donating $5 shouldn't be a problem eh?

 

Think of it from their perspective. You think $5 isn't much. If they accept ~10 $5 PP donations from newcomers which turn out to be ban evading scammers; they are $50 out of pocket. And that's a lot of money which starts to add up.

Better for them to not take the chance on gaining x profit.

 

Last night I offered to cover this guys payment, if he charge backs I will pay any fees.

Two bond holders- bogdan AND Wolf refused saying: "it's not worth my time for $5"

That should get their donation bond...it should be about helping the site, not making money. Reason why I can't donate is my bond is not working

 

That's complete ignorance on their part. It shouldn't be whether or not it's worth their time it's about going to the site that's what the money is used for. If they're going to act like that shouldn't even be bond holders.

 

I told you yesterday to pay me via your pp on his behalf. You told me you don't have time. Really it takes 1 minute or less to send a paymrnt via pp. So please don't tell me that I said it's not worth my time because I never said that.

 

If you have an issue with a particular bond holder, take it up with them privately or with Matthew. This isn't a slander a bond holder thread - OP is talking about the system in general in which there will always be this problem.

On topic: Sorry that it's a little bit inconvenient for you, but it's the best way to negate any initial dishonest members' actions. Usually by the time a scammer's donated the initial 5$ and hit the post requirement/join date requirement to donate directly with Paypal; they've already caved in to greed and theft and been banned - so using bond holders to do this is the best way to stop chargebacks to the site and therefore problems for the site and it's efficiency in dealing with other issues.

If you go to an RS gold site, spend the 5$ and have the gold delivered to the bond holder instead of you - this is an easy alternative to using Paypal.

 

Then why are bond holders allowed to charge fees?

Lol I think what you mean is that everyone should have the option to donate, which doesn't mean they have a right to it's a decision made by Richard how he garners income, it could be revoked any time.

 

If you get to 100 posts and you're a member for 2 weeks I believe you'll be able to donate through paypal yourself. Not 100% sure on that.

 

what happens if somebody charges back $300?

do you expect us to just take the loss?
