Question about MMR and LP gains.

Hi,
I was wondering if they are changing anything with the LP gains in season 4?

I literally only gain 2-3 LP every game and it makes a really hard struggle to climb.
What should I do to fix this??

 

Are you in division 5 or division 1?

 

There are two major changes:

1) You can drop below division 5 now. If you lose enough matches at 0 LP division 5, it will drop you to division I of the previous tier (example: gold V to silver I).

2) They aren't' "clamping" division I LP gains anymore. Previously, the first x games played in division I were worth significantly less LP. Games in division I will gain normal amount of LP.



The calculations for LP gain/loss aren't changing. Some people only gain 2/3 per win because League's algorithm thinks you should be lower than the tier you are currently in. Until you increase your win percent, you won't be gaining much more.

Thank god. Literally went on a 14 game win streak and only ended up with 33 lp.

 

Except in Diamond 1

 

I don't see the point of "gaining" LP when you are in D1. You're already the best. Challenger is set at 300 people, so the whole point of LP doesn't mean anything; you just get Challenger when your MMR gets higher than the 300th person.

 

You need to gain to move into challenger/maintain it.

 

You can fall from Division 5 now.

Granted not Bronze 5.

There's no more LP clamps in Division 1.

So basically, shit is about to go down.

 

Also, pretty sure you cant have 0LP wins anymore too.

 

When I was silver 1 I won 8 games in a row gaining +0 lp.

 

I highly doubt that happened unless it was a bug.

Doubt it. Your account at the moment is just consider not worthy enough to gain more points to get to the next division. Win 3-5 games in a row and you'll start seeing more points gain. Good luck.

801 wins 766 losses, not sure on the ratio..

 

Haha well, I'm not sure what's going on. I've boosted accounts from sliver to gold and gold to plat multiple times when they were gaining 5pts a game. They grow to 11 pts a game after I win 5-10 games in a row. I'm not sure what's up with your situation.

 

Sometimes the system goes funny and goes +0 multiple times, losing one purposely (lel), then winning again usually brings me to promo with the accounts I boost.
